The University of Mumbai is not only the oldest university in the state of Maharashtra, but it is also one of the oldest state university in entire India. The university was established in the year 1857 by John Wilson, who was a missionary in British India. Earlier the University was called as the University of Bombay, but when the name of the Bombay city was changed to Mumbai, the University was named as the University of Mumbai. Currently, there are 711 colleges affiliated to the University of Mumbai.

The admissions to the Mumbai University is made through the entrance exam conducted by the Mumbai University. The steps of the University of Mumbai Admission procedure are as follows-
1) The candidate has to login at the official website of the Mumbai University.
2) The candidate has to click to Apply Online to fill the application form.
3) The candidate then has to fill the relevant details in the application form, including uploading of the photo and signature and submit the application form before the last date of submission.

1) Virtual Classroom-

2) Hostel Facilities-
There are seven hostel facilities available for the students. The hostel accommodates around 550 students.

3) Library-
There is a library on the university campus, which consists of Books, Reference books, competitive exam books, Indian and Foreign Journals, E-resources like DVDs, Theses, Database, Online Journals.
