The Saurashtra University is a public university situated in the Rajkot district of Gujrat state. 9 districts come under the jurisdiction of the University. The Saurashtra Univesity comprises of  28 Postgraduate departments, and there are 297 affiliated colleges to the Saurashtra University. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and aims at imparting the knowledge to achieve the highest global standards in learning. The Computer Center at the Saurashtra University was sanctioned by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in the year 1988.

The purpose of the Computer Center is to provide a central computing facility for the development and growth of academics and research activities.

There are other essential functions of the Computer Center that are executed as per the guidelines of UGC. The functions involve Training for students and staff, Computerization of University activities, consultancy work, Assistance in research work and providing Campus Network and Internet services.

3) Hostel Facilities-

Saurashtra University hostel has 144 rooms which include of one seated, two seated and three seated rooms.

There are various facilities available at the hostel like Internet access, Indoor games hall, T.V room, Playground, Mess, Entertainment room.
