DIAT provides full-time admission to Ph.D. programs in Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Technology Management.
Admission to Ph.D. programs will be based on performance in a written entrance exam administered by the department in question, followed by a personal interview.

- The application fee is Rs.500/- for general and OBC candidates (250/- for SC/ST, women, and PWD candidates) per program (specialization) and must be paid online or by Demand Draft made payable to the Vice Chancellor, DIAT, Pune.

- A printout of the application acknowledgment generated by the system following application upload must be forwarded to the Deputy Registrar in a sealed envelope labeled with the name of the Program (Academics),
- DIAT must receive these documents by the deadline specified in the admission notice. Only upon receipt of the acknowledgment with DD will the application be processed.
- Candidates who wish to apply to more than one program (specialization) must do so separately.
