Bharath Institute of Higher Education & Research, Chennai Admission
Bharath University Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai (BIHER, Chennai) accepts both online and offline mode of application. Interested candidates choose the mode of application as per their convenience. Even the payment of application fee can be made depending on the mode of application form. For admission, the candidates are required to register themselves by visiting the official website of the institute. Bharath University offers programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level.
The programs offered by the institute come under several specializations, thus creating a pool of options to choose from. The application procedure of Bharath University usually starts in the month of March and ends in April.

Admission to the undergraduate programs
For B. Tech and B. Arch
BIHER Courses offers B. Tech and B. Arch programs at the undergraduate level. these programs are offered under several specializations. Admission procedure of each program varies from one another. Admission is primarily given based on candidates' performance in the respective entrance examinations. It also offers B. Tech (Lateral Entry) program.
- Candidates seeking admission to B. Tech and B. Tech Lateral Entry must qualify Bharath Engineering Entrance Examination (BEEE).
- A valid score in BEEE followed by a counseling procedure conducted at the institute is required for admission to B. Tech.
- Candidates seeking admission to B. Arch must hold a valid score in NATA examination.
Note* BEEE is an entrance examination conducted by the institute in the month of April every year. A valid score in BEEE would get students admission to B. Tech and B. Tech Lateral Entry program.
For B. Com, B. Sc, BBA, BCA, and BA
- For admission to B. Com and B. Sc, the candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in the last qualifying examination. Bharath University Cutoff list is released based on which the candidates are shortlisted.
- For admission to B. Sc in Horticulture and Agriculture, the candidates must qualify BEEE examination.
- Candidates seeking admission to BA, BCA, and BBA are shortlisted based on the merit in the last qualifying examinations.
Admission to the postgraduate programs
Bharath University Courses include various programs offered at the postgraduate level. The programs are offered under several specializations.
For M. Com, M. Sc, MCA, and MA
- For admission to M. Com, MA, and M. Sc, the candidates are shortlisted based on the merit in the last qualifying examination.
- Admission to MCA and MCA Lateral Entry requires a valid score in BEEE entrance examination.
For M. Tech, M. Arch, and MBA
M. Tech program is offered under more than 40 specializations.
- For admission to M. Tech, M. Arch, and MBA, the candidates must qualify BEEE examination conducted by the institute.
For M. Phil, PhD, and MS by Research
For admission to M. Phil and PhD programs, the candidates must qualify the written test followed by a personal interview round conducted by Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research.
Admission to MS by Research is done based on the merit in the last qualifying examination.
The candidates seeking admission to any of the programs offered by the institute must ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria defined by the institute.
Minimum Educational Qualification
For undergraduate programs
- Candidates seeking admission to B. Tech must have passed senior secondary school with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry securing at least 50% marks in aggregate.
- For admission to B. Tech lateral entry, the candidates must hold a Diploma recognized by Central or State Government with 50% marks in aggregate.
- Candidates with B. Sc in Mathematics are also eligible to apply for admission to B. Tech lateral entry.
- For admission to B. Com, the candidates must have passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
- Admission to B. Sc, BA, BCA, and BBA requires a pass in 10+2 in science stream with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
For postgraduate programs
The basic requirement to get admission to any postgraduate program is to hold a bachelor's degree in the relevant field.
- For admission to M. Com, the candidates must hold a B. Com or any equivalent degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
- Admission to M. Sc requires a bachelor's degree in science in the relevant field with at least 55% marks.
- Admission to MCA requires an undergraduate degree with Business Mathematics or Statistics with at least 50% marks.
- For admission to MA, the candidates must hold a BA degree with 55% marks in aggregate.
- Candidates seeking admission to M. Tech must possess a BE/B. Tech degree with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
- Admission to M. Arch requires a bachelor's degree in the relevant field securing at least 60%.
- Candidates seeking admission to MBA must possess a bachelor's degree with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
For M. Phil and PhD
- For admission to PhD, the candidates must possess a master's degree in the relevant field securing at least 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
- Admission to M. Phil requires a master's degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
Application procedure of Bharath University
For Online mode
- Candidates must visit the official website of the institute and get themselves registered.
- Fill the application form for 2019 available on the website.
- Attach the required documents.
- Make the payment of application fee using online payment mode such as net banking, credit card, or debit card.
For Offline mode
- Download the application form available on the official website of institute.
- Fill the form, attach the required documents and send it along with a demand draft drawn in favor of ‘Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research', payable at Chennai.

It’s worth. Freedom for students, Education is good
Faculty: I got a favorite faculty (Sir) he treats us like his own kids. While taking class he became a teacher and he’ll be strict off the classroom he’ll help us in everything, once his daughter was gifted with a baby. He treated all his students with sweets! That was nice, more than a teacher, he was like father for us.
