NIRF 2024 Ranking to be Released at 3 PM Today, Check Updates here

The NIRF 2024 ranking for Indian institutions is going to be released by the Ministry of Education today, August 12, at 3 PM. The rankings will be published on the official website of NIRF, after a press conference conducted by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
This year’s rankings will include 13 lists; University, Colleges, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Law, Medical, Architecture, Dental, Innovation, Agriculture and Allied Sectors, and Research Institutions. In the last year, 8,688 institutions had participated in the NIRF rankings, thus indicating the significance of this framework in evaluating the performance of the higher learning institutions in India.
For the year 2023, the IIT Madras stood on the first position in the ‘Overall’ stream, second was IISc Bengaluru and third was IIT Delhi. In the engineering category, all the top eight positions were taken by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). IISc Bengaluru topped the list in the ‘Universities’ category, and Miranda House and AIIMS Delhi in the ‘Colleges’ and ‘Medical’ categories respectively.
The NIRF rankings assess institutions under five broad categories - Teaching, Learning & Resources, Research & Professional Practice, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach & Inclusivity, and finally Perception. Every criterion has its weight assigned, which guarantees the overall and more or less equal evaluation of the institutions.
The NIRF Rankings 2024 will be released today at exactly 3 PM, and these rankings will play a crucial role in determining higher education choices across India.
What to Expect from NIRF 2024 Rankings
The NIRF 2024 will categorise institutions into 13 different sectors, including overall, university, college, engineering, management, pharmacy, law, medical, architecture, dental, innovation, agriculture, and allied research sectors. This broad assessment seeks to give a general picture of the state of higher learning in India by factoring in a number of performance indicators.
The ranking process entails the evaluation of institutions against the following key performance indicators: Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR) 30%, Research & Professional Practice (RRP) 30%, Graduation Outcomes (GO) 20%, Outreach & Inclusivity (OI) 10% and Perception (P) 10%. These criteria help in the fair assessment of the institutions in the different domains to avoid bias.
