Why Is NTA Not Removing the 75% Criteria From JEE Main 2025?

The 75% criteria in Class 12 for JEE Main was reapplied by the NTA for 2023 after being temporarily removed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic circumstances. This decision reflects the authority’s intention to maintain academic standards among applicants.

Recently, the NTA received around 37,000 suggestions from aspirants across the country regarding the JEE exam. These suggestions may result in the 75% criteria being reviewed again this year. The reason for maintaining the 75% criteria for JEE Main could be related to the specific nature of the courses and institutions that JEE serves, which often require a strong academic foundation.
