TNEA Counselling Procedure
The TNEA counselling 2024 has begun online at the official website on 6th May 2024, and the last date to register is 6th June 2024. The TNEA 2024 counselling process must be completed by candidates in accordance with the timetable made public by the authorities. The shortlisted candidates will be grouped by rank by the authorities. To learn the specifics of TNEA counselling 2024, candidates can refer to the procedure below.
Step 1: Choice Filling by the candidates
A candidate is given 3 days to fill the choices and their preferred college and branches. The order of choice is of extreme importance and there is no liit to the number of choices that can be filled.
Step 2: Seat Allotment
Allotment of the seat will be based on the preferred choice of candidate as per rank and the seta matrix. below is the process to download the provisional allotment:
- Go to the official website and click on the login button
- Login using the credentials created at the time of registration
- Now locate the 'open provisonal allotment' button and click on it
- The allotment will be displayed on screen after a minute or two. Download it for furture use
Step 3: Choice Confirmation & Option Practice
During the allotment stage, the candidate is alloted a seat and is given 6 options. The candidates must choose an option within 2 days else they are shifted to the next round of counselling. These 6 options are explained below:
Option 1: Accept and Join
The candidate can simply accept the seat alloted to them and report to the college. Failing to report to the college, the canddiate will lose thse seat and cannot participate in further counselling rounds.
Option 2: Accept and Upward
Here, the candidate is satisfied with the seat alloted but wishes to wait for higher allotment as per preference. For eg., A canddiate is given seat 5, but he wishes to wait for choice 1,2,3, or 4. In case no better choice is available, the candidate is confirmed with the previously alloted seat.
Option 3: Decline and Upward
Here, the canddiate is not satisfied with the seat and wants to go for a higher allotment seat. The candidate declines the alloted seat and wait for a better one. In case no better choice is available, the canddiate will be moved to the next round.
Option 4: Decline and Move to Next Round
The candidate here is not satisfied with the seat, and does not want to opt for upward case as well. The candidate then declines the seat and moves to next round.
Option 5: Decline and Quit
A candidate is not satisfied with the seat and does not want to move ahead with subsequesnt round as well.
Option 6: Upward or Move to Next Round
This option will be shown to only those candidates who have not been alloted any seat. In this case if the seat is available in upward movement, the canddiate will be alloted the seat. Otherwise he will be moved to the next round.
Step 4: Reporting & Confirmation of Seat
All the candidates who have been alloted seats and have opted for 'Accept & Join' will be reporting to the alloted college and confirm their admission by paying the college fees within 7 days. Non-Admission will be considered as not willing to join and the allotment will be cancelled. All those who had opted for 'Accept & Upward' will be alloted tentative admission and must pay the fee by visiting the nearest TFC alomg with submitting their certificates to hold the current seat. Non-reporting and Non-payment will be considered as not willing to join, resulting in the cancellation of athe allotted seat. Sch candidates will not only loose the seat, but will also not be considered for any other subsequent counselling rounds as well.
