GUJCET 2025 Preparation Tips

To prepare for the GUJCET exam, mentioned below are a few key preparation tips that can be useful in the exam preparation.

  • Check GUJCET Syllabus and Exam Pattern: It is very important to first understand the syllabus and pattern of the exam. Understanding the syllabus will help understand the topics that will be asked in the exam. By knowing the exam pattern, students will get to know type of questions, total number of questions, marking scheme of the exam.
  • Prepare a Timetable: Candidates can improve their exam preparation and get ready for the exam properly by making a timetable and following it strictly. Based on the level of difficulty of various topics, candidates can set time for every topic covered in the syllabus. They should make sure that learning, practising, and revising are all part of the timetable.
  • Understanding the Concepts: Many students memorise the concepts instead of understanding. This will not help them in applying the concepts in solving the numerical.  Candidates will have a hard time remembering the concepts for a longer period of time if they don't understand the concept.
  • Make Important Notes: Students should develop a habit of making their own short notes chapter-wise while learning. These notes should include the important formulas and theorems. These notes will be very helpful for the final revision before the GUJCET 2025 exam.
  • Solve Previous Years' Question Papers: Previous years' question papers and sample papers are the best tools to score well in the examination. Practising the previous years' GUJCET question papers will help to boost their confidence and speed of solving the questions. Additionally, it helps to find out the weaker areas which need more attention. Previous years' question papers help to understand the type of questions and most repeated questions.
  • Use Online Resources: Nowadays, the internet is easily accessible for most students. Many study resources are available online for GUJCET. This includes answers to questions, mock tests, video lectures, etc. Students should make use of these resources wisely to score high marks in the exam. They should not waste their precious time by using mobile phones and playing online games. They should stay away from social media and TV.

GUJCET Previous Year Question Papers

Solving GUJCET previous years' question papers regularly helps in self-assessment of one's strengths and weaknesses. Through this process, you can improve your problem-solving skills and learn to manage time effectively. Additionally, you can easily identify areas to improve and tailor your study plan accordingly.

Candidates are advised to solve at least last 3 years' question papers to get an understanding about the kind of questions asked in the exam, and also observe if there are any changes in the paper pattern or the kind of questions being asked. This will help in assessing the exam strategy better and you can then prepare your questions accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the GUJCET exam for??

The Gujarat Common Entrance Test is referred to as GUJCET. The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHEB) administers the state-level admission test. Candidates who wish to enroll in undergraduate programs such as engineering and pharmacy may apply for the test. Qualified students will get admission to several government and private colleges around the state of Gujarat.

Is GUJCET only for Gujarat students??

Yes. The GUJCET exam is only open to candidates who are domiciled in the state of Gujarat. Therefore, candidates from other states are not eligible to apply for the GUJCET exam.

Is GUJCET easier than JEE??

Yes. The GUJCET exam is way easier as compared to the JEE Main exam. It has board-level MCQs. If you are from the state board, then studying just for the board exam will be enough for GUJCET (just do the PYQs). If you are not committed to JEE, then there’s no point in going in that direction.

Is 100 a good score in GUJCET??

Based on the four categories of marks mentioned above, the candidates appearing in the GUJCET 2025 exam are assigned ranks, which again, are segregated into Very Good Rank, Good Rank, Decent/Average Rank, and Low Rank. Any score of 100 and above out of 120 is considered a very good score in the GUJCET 2025 exam.

Does GUJCET have negative marking??

Yes, the GUJCET paper does have a negative marking of one fourth mark for every incorrect answer. In GUJCET exam, each question is of 1 marks and for every incorrect answer, one-fourth (0.25) mark is deducted. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions.
