All India Council of Technical Education has released the GPAT Eligibility Criteria every year in the information brochure of the examination. In order to get admission into Master of Pharmacy programs across various institutes, students would be required to appear and qualify the GPAT Examination in the year 2020. The GPAT Application form would be available from October on the official website. The GPAT Application Procedure is an online process.

Before applying for GPAT 2020, candidates must know and fulfill the GPAT Eligibility criteria. About 30,000 candidates are expected to appear for the Pharmacy Postgraduate Test. GPAT score is slated to be accepted across by all institutes and constituent colleges of AICTE. Candidates who apply for GPAT have to fulfill the eligibility criteria as detailed below:

  1. Aspirants wanting to appear for GPAT should be Indian Citizens.
  2. The Aspirants would be required to have a Bachelor degree in Pharmacy for a duration of 4 years. This condition would be applicable even for candidates pursuing an option of lateral entry.
  3. Candidates who are in their final year of B.Pharm program are also eligible to appear for the exam.
  4. No Age restrictions have been set for GPAT as per AICTE, the body that conducts the examination.

Would a candidate appear for GPAT Exam for practice purposes irrespective of eligibility?

Only Eligible candidates would be appearing for the GPAT entrance examination.

Who and all are eligible to appear for the test under the Physically Disabled category? 

As per the Persons with Disability Act, a candidate who appears for GPAT qualifying to be physically disabled would be suffering from the following disabilities the extent being of not less than 40% certified by a competent medical authority. 

  • Dumb
  • Visual Impairment
  • Hearing Impairment
  • Physically Impaired

A candidate doing Graduation through Part-time or Distance, is he/she eligible to apply for GPAT?

The candidate can apply if it is approved by the statutory authorities. 

Would a third-year B.pharm student be eligible for GPAT?

No, B.Pharm third-year students would not be eligible to appear in GPAT Examination.
