Vivek Vardhini Education Society was established on 25th October 1907 in Hyderabad. It was the first private college of Education affiliated to Osmania University.
Vivek Vardhini was an education association founded in Hyderabad, the seat of today's Telangana district, as part of the Swadeshi movement's political awakening. Before the creation of Vivek Vardhini Education Society , a few Marathi activists founded a Marathi elementary school in 1901. Due to an overwhelming financial load, the school was transferred to another group of visionaries in 1906. Soon after the new team, which included Sarvasri Dattopant Pisolkar, Vishnupant Akkalkotkar, Ganpat Bhim Rao Afzulpurkar, and Narsopant Boramanikar, took over, they elevated the school to Anglo-Vernacular Middle School level and christened it the "Viveka Vardhini Pathashala."
