Located on the pious banks of the river Nagavali in Srikakulam, the Government Medical College, Srikakulam was established in the year 2008 by then the Chief Minister late Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy garu. It is well known as RIMS (Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences), Srikakulam and is extended over an area of 35.97 acres. The college is affiliated to NTR University of Health Sciences.
The college is fully furnished with mighty halls and classrooms, Library, 5 Hostels, through its Auditorium, Basket ball, volley ball, badminton court, walking track, etc and indoor recreation halls.
