About NIT Trichy:
The National Institute of Technology, Trichy, widely referred to as NIT Trichy, commenced its establishment in the academic year of 1964. The institute was previously known as Regional Engineering College and in the year 2003 it was renamed as National Institute of Technology. The institute is situated on the banks of river Cauvery in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. because of the affluent experience, the institute has been granted the status of ‘Deemed University’. NIT Trichy is ranked 8th by NIRF 2022 for B.Tech and 781-790 by QS World Rank 2024. NIT Trichy offers UG, PG, and other courses to students in the Engineering, Management, and other fields through 18 departments.
The institute has also been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the Government of India.

The establishment of NIT Trichy was undertaken jointly by the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu. The main aim of establishing the institute was to provide quality education though undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs.

National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli course admissions are available for both Online and offline methods. Admission to different courses is determined by merit and results on entrance exams. Admission to NIT Trichy is mostly determined by entrance. Admission to different courses is determined by national entrance exams like JEE Main, GATE, and so on. Final seat assignments are made through CCMN and CCMT counseling sessions.

NIT Trichy Admission Procedure:
The candidates seeking admission must ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria defined by the institute. The admission procedure for each program varies from one another. - For admission to B. Tech and B. Arch, the candidates must qualify JEE MAIN examination. The selection procedure is based on the cut off list released by the institute.
- Admission to M. Tech and M. Arch requires qualifying Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination.
- Candidates seeking admission to MCA program must hold a valid score in NIMCET examination.
Admission to MBA requires a valid score in Common Aptitude Test (CAT). The final selection is based on the cut off marks in CAT examination.

The final overall cut-off for NIT Trichy was a rank between 1528 and 37038 for JEE-Main 2022. Following the round six cutoffs, the B.Tech program admission was closed. NIT Trichy my college
Placement: Most of the good companies come and visit our college. They offer good amount of package to students.
College: It is one of the topmost engineering college in India, besides good environment, well educated faculty the college offers tremendous oppurtinites for the students.

Faculty: Dr. R. Gandhimathi because she is very intelligent and supportive. She always inspires students and her way of teaching is very qualitative.
Placement: Its 100%
College: NIT Trichy is just awesome. Never had any problem not even food as well. Being a Forth Indian, i never had food and language issue as well since people were very supportive and friendly. There was separate mess for both south Indian people and north Indian people. There was shade in walk way, hence no need to face sun burn. A lot of canteens, CCD were always open. Academic was superb. Overall, the best experience i ever had in my life.
