The students are made to focus on the major subjects of apparel production technology, apparel production management, apparel quality management, technical textiles, pattern making and garment construction from the semester I to semester V,
However, from Semester V, since the students are already equipped with basic knowledge of the subjects, the students are allowed to chose and pursue the deepening specialization of their choice.

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) - Kangra, Kangra Admission Details
Admission Procedure:
The candidate needs to appear for the written examination NIFT GAT comprising of a General Ability Test.
The duration of NIFT GAT is 120 minutes and includes the following sections-

Minimum Eligibility:
The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination from any recognized Central/ State Board of Secondary Examination or 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB) or A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
