About Madras Institute of Technology (MIT)
Madras Institute of Technology (MIT), Chennai commenced its establishment in the academic year of 1949 by C. Rajam. The college has been affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The college has also been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The college offers various programs across several specializations at the undergraduate level and postgraduate level. The college offers B. E., B. Tech, M. E., M. Tech, M. Sc, M. Phil, and Ph. D. It is also the first institute in India to offer postgraduate programs in Mechatronics, and Avionics. Madras Institute of Technology takes admission in BE/B. Tech program based upon marks obtained in TNEA. For admission in M. Tech/ME, M. Sc, M. Phil candidates shall posess a valid TANCET or GATE score. Candidates seeking admission in PhD program shall have a score in either of any exam UGC NET, UGC CSIR NET, GATE. Madras Institute of Technology admission is available both online and in person. Students must meet minimal eligibility criteria for admission to BTech, and final seat allocation is handled by TNEA Counselling. Admission to MIT Chennai for MTech is based on national-level entrance exams such as TANCET/GATE, followed by TANCET Counselling.
