Highlights of International Management Institute Delhi
International Management Institute (IMI) situated in New Delhi was founded in the year 1981 distinguishing it as the first business school of its type in India with corporate sponsorship. The institute was set up with initial funding from the RPG group of Industries and other corporate houses which are its members RPG Enterprises, ITClasses, Nestle, Tata Chemicals, British Oxygen, Steel Authority of India Limited, and Williamson Magor. IMI was established based on the partnership with IMI Geneva which is now called IMD Lausanne. Over this period, IMI has widened its operations to give junior management professionals the strong knowledge base to succeed in the management, consulting, and entrepreneurship fields. The institute expanded its network with the launch of IMI Kolkata in the year 2010 and IMI Bhubaneshwar in the year 2011. It has also established a good network of the leading business schools in Europe, North America, and Asia thereby increasing its internationalization instrument.
The first set of programs is offered at the PG level and has been approved by the AICTE; they include the two-year PGDM, PGDM HRM, PGDM B&FS; and an 18-month PGDM for practicing managers and FPM. Its daily operations are based in New Delhi which affords IMI broad industry connections across diverse domains including IT solutions, consultancy, finance and banking, consumer goods, retail and e-business, and automobiles. IMI New Delhi is also affiliated with renowned bodies such as AACSB, AMBA, SAQS, and NBA which stand testimony to the institute's quest for quality education.
As far as rankings are concerned, IMI New Delhi has achieved some remarkable ranks both at the national as well as at the international level. The program was 7th among Indian B-schools and 84th in the FT Masters in Management Ranking 2023. However, it ranked 11th in Business Today B-School rankings 2023, 14th in the Fortune India B-Schools survey 2023, 34th in India in NIRF Ranking 2023, and 40th in Asia for MBA according to QS Global MBA Ranking 2024. - FMP Stipend (Fellow Programme in Management): This scholarship is accessible only to those who are Indian nationals. It provides a stipend for the first two years and the last two years of the course with an amount of INR 25,000 and INR 30,000 respectively. The amount will be given at the end of every semester and gives needed monetary requirements for the students so that they can benefit from it for a duration of four years. This is the most wanted scholarship by the student population.
- Contingency Grants: The International Management Institute in Delhi offers sufficient grants to the students for the FPM programs. This grant is given to help the students in the covering the costs of books, projects, hardware, and software as well as other expenses that may be incurred. This grant is strictly for the students of the third and fourth year.
