The different courses offered by IISER Pune are BS-MS Dual degree, Integrated Ph.D., and Ph.D. program. IISER Pune also offers Integrated Ph.D. and Ph.D. program to international students.
- For BS-MS Dual degree candidate should have passed 10+2 examination from the recognized educational board.
- Admission to BS-MS Dual degree is through the joint entrance exam which is being conducted by IISERs.
- For Integrated Ph.D. candidate should have scored minimum 60% marks in Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline.
- Admission to Integrated Ph.D. is through national level selection which is being conducted separately for each discipline.
- For Ph.D., program candidate should have scored minimum 60% marks in Mater's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Admission to the Ph.D. program is through national level selection which is being conducted separately for each discipline.
- For international students, the minimum eligibility for the Ph.D. program is a four-year undergraduate degree or Masters degree.

BS-MS 2018 Admission:
Admission to this course is through three channels: KVPY, JEE, and SCB channel.
KVPY channel
- SA stream: Candidate must have taken admission in class 11th and must have scored minimum 80% marks in class 10th with science and mathematics as a compulsory subject (70% for reserved categories).
- SX stream: Candidate must have taken admission in class 12th and must have scored minimum 80% marks in class 10th examination.
- SB stream: Candidate must have taken admission in 1st year of undergraduate course in science stream. Candidate must have scored 60% marks (50% for reserved categories) in 10+2 examination (PCB).
For JEE Advanced
Candidate should have scored minimum 75% marks in science stream in 10+2 examination. Candidate with JEE Advanced rank can apply for IISER.
For State and Central Board (SCB)
Candidates who are applying through SCB channel need to score marks which should be equal to or above cut off marks at 10+2 level. SC/ST/KM category candidate should have scored minimum 55% marks in 10+2 examination. To apply through this channel, the candidate should appear for IISER Aptitude Test.
Note:
- No. of seats reserved for students who belong to KVPY and JEE Advanced streams are 50%.
- Rest of the seats are available for SCB candidates.
- KVPY or SCB candidates do not need to appear for JEE Advanced exam.
Integrated Ph.D. Admission 2018
- Chemistry: Candidate should have scored minimum 60% marks or 6/10 CGPA in B.Sc. Selection examination for this course is JAM (Chemistry) 2018.
- Physics: Candidate should have scored minimum 60% marks or 6/10 CGPA in B.Sc. Selection examination for this course is JAM (Physics) 2018.
- Biology: Candidate should have scored minimum 60% marks in Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline. Selection examination for this course is JGEEBILS 2018.
- Mathematics: Candidate should have scored minimum 60% marks or 6/10 CGPA in B.Sc. or B.Tech. Selection examination for this course is JAM (MA/MS) 2018 or NBHM 2018.
Ph.D. Admission 2018
IISER Pune offers a Ph.D. program in eight different specializations i.e. Biology, Ecology and Evolution, Chemistry, Earth and Climate Science, Mathematics, Physics, Quantitative Biology, Humanities & Social Sciences. Candidate should have scored minimum 60% marks in Master's degree in relevant discipline.
