Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati, widely referred to as IIT Tirupati, commenced its establishment in the academic year of 2015. The institute was established with the help of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the Government of India. Initially, it started functioning temporarily at Krishna Theja Educational Institutions. The institute has been recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati began its academic programs under the supervision of IIT Madras. IIT Tirupati has been recognized as the Institute of national importance.

IIT Tirupati is known as one of the premier institutions for technical education in the country. The institute offers programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. These courses are designed in such a way that they nurture innovation, teamwork, quality, and societal interactions.

The infrastructure of the institute provides all the basic amenities that the students would require. Minimum Eligibility

• Candidates seeking admission to B. Tech must have passed senior secondary school securing at least 75% marks in aggregate from a recognized board.
• For admission to M. Tech and MS by Research, the candidates must have completed BE/B. Tech from a recognized university.
• Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. program must possess a master’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized university.

• For admission to B. Tech, the candidates are shortlisted based on the marks obtained by them in JEE Main and JEE Advanced entrance examination followed by counseling procedure.
• Candidates seeking admission to M. Tech and MS by Research must hold a valid score in GATE examination. In case of admission to MS by Research, the candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in Written test or Interview round conducted by the institute along with GATE examination score.
• For admission to the Ph.D. program, the candidates must qualify GATE/CSIR NET/UGC NET/NBHM examinations followed by written test or interview round.
