The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, also known as IIT Delhi commenced its establishment in the academic year 1961. The institute has been declared as the "Institute of National Importance" and granted the status of Deemed University.
Ever since the establishment of IIT Delhi, more than 48,000 people have graduated from covering various disciplines including engineering, physics, management, humanities, and social sciences. Among them, about 5,070 have obtained a doctorate. The number of students with a Bachelor of Science degree exceeds 15,738; the rest have a master’s degree in engineering, science, and business administration; these graduates now work as scientists, technologists, business managers, and entrepreneurs; some graduates have left the original Discipline, turned to administrative services, active political or non-governmental organizations. In doing so, they have made significant contributions to the development of this country and the industrialization of the world.

IIT Delhi Courses and Fees 2025-26
IIT Delhi Courses consist of various programs offered at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate levels. These programs are offered under various specializations thus, allowing students to choose from a pool of options. Candidates seeking admission to any of the programs offered by the institute must ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria defined by the institute.
- Candidates seeking admission to B. Tech must have passed class 12th in the science stream.
- For admission to M. Tech, candidates are required to possess a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field securing at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
- Candidates seeking admission to M. Sc must possess a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field securing at least 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.

IIT Delhi Location
A 320-acre college campus spread is located in Hauz-Khas which held great importance in the history of Delhi. The campus was designed in a way that it is surrounded by two major roads and two important education organizations, in the east of the campus there is Sri Aurobindo Marg which connects the most important part of the city, and on the north, there is a new ring road which connects Delhi to highways, on the west and south part of the campus there is Jawaharlal Nehru University complex and National Council of Educational Research and Training respectively.

IIT Delhi has commenced admissions for 2024, offering a range of programs that accept scores from national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, UCEED, IIT JAM, and CAT. B.Tech and M.Tech are the flagship courses of the IIT Delhi. For B.Tech admission, candidates must first qualify for JEE Main and then JEE Advanced. Those who succeed participate in the JoSAA counseling, where seats are allocated based on ranks and preferences.
M.Tech admissions rely on GATE scores. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for additional interview rounds as specified by the respective departments on IIT Delhi’s official website. The MBA program admits students based on the Common Admission Test (CAT). Indian Institute of Technology (IITD) , Delhi Placement 2024 Details
According to a recent media report, IIT Delhi placed 1,050 students (including PPOs). In addition, 1000 students were selected during IIT Delhi placement 2024 (phase 1). In addition, over 50 international offers (including PPOs) were received during Phase I. In Phase I IIT Delhi placement 2024, Microsoft, Air India, Texas Instruments, Bajaj Auto, Goldman Sachs, and Ola Electric were the top recruiters. In addition, the Core (Technical) sector placed 42% of students during Phase 1 IIT Delhi placements in 2024.
At the end of Phase 1, IIT Delhi placements 2023, 1,300 job offers were received, of which 1,150 were unique. Furthermore, 260 PPOs and 30 international offers were also received. Over 20 job profiles were offered by 15 global companies from the UK, USA, Singapore, Japan, and Netherlands. A total of 500 companies registered during IIT Delhi placements in 2023. At IIT Delhi's placements in 2023, 50 students received domestic offers exceeding INR 1 Crore Per Annum.

IIT Delhi provides various scholarships, financial assistance and study support services for UG, PG and PhD students. Interested students can use the selection criteria to apply for the following scholarships.
Undergraduate Scholarships:
- Free Merit-cum-Means Institute (MCM) Scholarships based on performance: The college provides 1,000 Indian rupees per month to approximately 25% of students. Provided to the engineering and technical students who deserve it.
- Awards and certificates issued by the college: The best 7% of B. Tech students received INR 2,500 in the 8th and 10th semesters.
- Scholarships awarded to SC/ST students: As part of this scholarship, SC/ST students are exempt from paying tuition. 4.5 Indian rupees per LPA. For IIT Delhi M. Tech., M. (research) and M. Des.
Postgraduate Scholarship
- Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship: Master students can receive 1,000 Indian rupees per month, but only for students whose parents’ income is less than INR 4.5 LPA.

Best IIT College in India
Placement: The placement record of our college is good. However, the condition of core jobs is not very good, and only a few get placed by it. Around 85% of the students get placed. The highest package offered was around 1 crore, and the lowest was around 6 lacs per annum. Biggest tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, and Facebook. Other than that, the companies that visit the campus are Accenture, Oyo, Axis Bank, IBM, Oracle, Cisco, etc visit campus every year.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are graduated and done their PhD from a top university in a world like Standford, MIT. Many of them are doing research work under government. They are knowledgeable and makes good efforts for the students to understand the concept. Instead of mid-semester in our college, two minors happen in a one-month interval. In their website, the pdf files are available for each class, and it is useful if you miss the class. One can get every type of exposure. The student to faculty ratio is 16:1. They use PPT presentations for giving lectures.
College: My college campus is spread across 320-acre. One branch is under construction in Sonepat due to lack of space. The Wi-Fi speed is strong in the hostel rooms. Lecture hall complex is totally air-conditioned. All the labs are fully equipped with air-conditioned, and there are many setups for experiments. Workshops include 3D printing .Admission process is very tough as students need to get more score in Jee mains examination but if student study hard he or she easily get admission.I qualified in Jee mains then choose my dream college.

Faculty: Most of the faculty members are graduated and done their PhD from a top university in a world like Standford, MIT. Many of them are doing research work under government. They are knowledgeable and makes good efforts for the students to understand the concept. Instead of mid-semester in our college, two minors happen in a one-month interval. In their website, the pdf files are available for each class, and it is useful if you miss the class. One can get every type of exposure. The student to faculty ratio is 16:1. They use PPT presentations for giving lectures.
Placement: The placement record of our college is good. However, the condition of core jobs is not very good, and only a few get placed by it. Around 85% of the students get placed. The highest package offered was around 1 crore, and the lowest was around 6 lacs per annum. Biggest tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, and Facebook. Other than that, the companies that visit the campus are Accenture, Oyo, Axis Bank, IBM, Oracle, Cisco, etc visit campus every year.
College: My college campus is spread across 320-acre. One branch is under construction in Sonepat due to lack of space. The Wi-Fi speed is strong in the hostel rooms. Lecture hall complex is totally air-conditioned. All the labs are fully equipped with air-conditioned, and there are many setups for experiments. Workshops include 3D printing .Admission process is very tough as students need to get more score in Jee mains examination but if student study hard he or she easily get admission.I qualified in Jee mains then choose my dream college.

Best years of my life
Faculty: Well qualified faculty but not all of them had the passion for teaching
Placement: Needless to say. It was just great
College: Needs no introduction. IIT Delhi never failed to mesmerize me till the last day of my course. The badge of IIT carries with you till the lifetime.

Placement: Placements are very good. I get 13.5 lakhs per anum. Almost every students are placed.
College: Iit delhi is best institute. It has very good placements. It has very good infrastructure. Ragging free campus.
