About IIM Visakhapatnam:
The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam, a newly built IIMV that was established in 2015 under the Human Resource Development Ministry and Government of India, is now being mentored by IIM, Bangalore. IIM Visakhapatnam, the largest city in Andhra Pradesh, is identical to the Howard Business School in terms of teaching style and facility and uses many of the same case studies. The Institute is located in the "City of Destiny" of Visakhapatnam on two campuses with cutting-edge amenities. Its temporary/transit campus is situated in the posh Andhra University grounds. The permanent campus, a world-class GRIHA-5 Star facility on around 241 acres of land, is situated at Gambheeram Village, Anandapuram Mandal, on the National Highway (NH) 16 to Kolkata, about 25 km from the temporary campus.

There are 12 visiting faculty members and 23 full-time faculty at IIM Visakhapatnam. All of the faculty members have PhDs from prestigious universities in India and overseas, including IIMs and IITs. At the graduate and doctoral levels, IIM Visakhapatnam offers four management courses. Under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY), Government of India, the institute also provides a specific MBA curriculum in Digital Governance & Management in blended learning format, the first of its kind in the nation. Placements of IIM Visakhapatnam
In the summer placements of 2024, IIM Visakhapatnam made a record achievement of 100% placements for the PGP batch of 2023-2025. This achievement is quite a testimony to the institute’s well-developed placement cell and the dearth which graduates from this institute in the market. The maximum compensation package provided to the students in the present placement session was Rs. INR 2,40,000, proving the fact that the Financial aspect is one of the major attractions. The overall stipend for the batch was RS. 69238, which gave a good dividend on the amount invested on education by the students.
The number of participating firms and students was as follows Large no of companies participated in the summer placement drive which shows that industries and recruiters are actively involved Industry type participating firms 172 Such a wide participation gives an indication of the growing profile of IIM Visakhapatnam and the quality of students being produced. The Manufacturing segment turned out to be the largest recruiting segment with 23% of all placements. The Manufacturing sector takes the largest share of the total employment of the Hunt’s graduates indicating a good match between the skill sets of the graduates and the demands of the market.
Recalling the last placement trend of the session 2023-24, the institute once again was able to provide 100% placement to the aspirants which indicates the standard of this Institute. During this period, the largest of all placements offered to the graduates was INR 43. 25 LPA, and the median package offered to its students was INR 15 LPA. 61 LPA. Furthermore, the placements contained four ordinal offers for international locations, for an average salary of 19 INR. 5 LPA, proving the international demand for IIM Visakhapatnam’s graduates. The largest sector which contributed to the placements included BFSI with 34 % of the students placed in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance sectors, establishing the prominence of the company in placement.
