The Indian Institute of Management (Tiruchirappalli), mostly referred to as IIM Trichy or IIMT, was established in the academic year of 2011. It is a public graduate business school that was founded with the approval of the Government of India. It is one of the thirteen IIMs in India and one of the seven IIMs set up during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. The institute was previously guided by IIM Bangalore and was later given ‘Autonomous’ status. The institute has also been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is an institute of national importance.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has ranked IIMT 27th in management school ranking.

The infrastructure of IIM Tiruchirappalli is spread over an area of 173 acres providing all the basic amenities inside of the campus. According to the broader perspective of IIM Trichy, the campus consists of hostel facilities, a library, classrooms, a cafeteria, recreational facilities, and sports facilities. The students of IIM Trichy are provided with a facility called Learning Resource Center which is equipped with various learning sources such as books, newspapers, electronic resources, magazines, etc. The entire campus is enabled with Wi-Fi making information accessibility easier.
The institute conducts various guest lectures to keep students updated. Besides, the institute conducts several events every year. The cultural and management fest held at the institute is ‘Dhruva’. It is conducted in October every year and in November an entrepreneurial summit known as E-Summit is held.
IIM Trichy is a public business school that offers postgraduate programs in management. The IIM Trichy Courses include Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM), and Post Graduate Program in Business Management (PGPBM). The institute also offers a Fellow Program in Management (FPM) at the research level. These programs are offered under various specializations. - While the candidates seeking admission to FPM must possess a Master’s degree with 55% marks in aggregate.

Admission to IIM Trichy is entrance-based. The Common Admission Test (CAT) and a personal interview round are the two methods by which the institute admits students to its PGPM and MBA programs. Applicants may submit a PhD application if they have a valid CAT, GMAT, GRE, IIMB Test, or UGC-JRF score. Candidates who have been shortlisted in the first round are invited to the interview phase.

Step 1: Students must register themselves for the CAT exam from the official website and appear for the exam.
Step 2: CAT qualifiers who clear the cut-off will be called for further selection rounds- AWT/WAT/PI.

IIM Trichy Cut-Offs are released based on the qualifying CAT Percentile and further stages of admission. IIM Trichy has concluded the 2024 Placements recently for batches 2024 of the Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM) and Post Graduate Program in Human Resources (PGPM-HR) at IIM Trichy, and the data represents a rise in the overall package of students.
