IIM Shillong, established in 2007, is the first of the second-generation IIMs. It is also the 7th IIM established in India among the 20 IIMS. Formerly known as the Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management Shillong (RGIIM), IIM Shillong provides management development programs (MDPs) in addition to postgraduate, doctorate, and executive courses. Life at IIM Shillong
IIM Shillong campus offers a calm environment for learning, surrounded by pine trees, a gorgeous lake, and picturesque walking routes. The facility includes cutting-edge amenities such as well-equipped classrooms, hostels, a canteen, sports facilities, advanced IT infrastructure, and a variety of other services. The lodging consists of four hostel complexes, each of which provides not only sleeping but also areas for sports, recreational activities, and meals.
The academic day at IIM Shillong begins at 9 a.m. Sessions are approximately 1.5 hours long and include a mix of lectures, interactive engagements, case studies, and presentations. These instructional activities continue until 6 p.m., with some classes continuing into the evening. Following that, the rest of the day is spent attending group meetings, participating in club gatherings, completing assignments, and preparing for the following day’s academic activities.

IIM Shillong conducts its admission in two steps: candidates need to have a CAT Score and they must fulfill the cut-off to appear for the personal interview. PGP Admissions 2024 is open in IIM Shillong. In addition to its flagship PGP program, IIM Shillong also offers a two-year MBA program called PGPWE, aimed at working professionals, and PGPEx, a one-year, full-time residential program.
