IIM Indore Highlights
The Indian Institute of Management Indore is the latest in the string of management schools going by the tagline of the Indian Institutes of Management started in 1996. It has thus rather established a remarkable identity for itself within the sphere of management education in India. In the year 2024, IIM Indore got the rank 9 in the Management category by NIRF, for which it has left no stone unturned in maintaining a high standard of academics, faculties, research, and industry interactions.
Adding on to the existing testimony, Outlook has ranked IIM Indore in the 5th position in 2023, and Business Today ranked in the 6th position in the same year. Such rankings earmark the performance of the institute on several parameters such as the academic difficulty level, placement opportunities, physical infrastructure, and alumni benevolence.
Being a government business school IIM Indore is independent and has the flexibility to develop and design its course structures based on the emerging international market scenario. The institute’s primary objective has remained to deliver quality education, as a testimony to it, is the institute has international accreditation. It is affiliated with the Association of MBAs-AMBA to certify the quality of MBA courses; the AACSB – Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business which sets international standards in business studies; and the EQUIS –EFMD Quality Improvement System that focuses on both academic quality and relevance to practice. IIM Indore Courses
Around four postgraduate courses (PGP, PGP-HRM, EPGP, and IPM), as well as a certificate program (PGPMX), three doctoral programs (DPM, EDPM, and EFPMG), and a few Executive Education Programs are offered by IIM Indore. The flagship degree, PGP (commonly known as MBA), is provided for a two-year period and is residential in nature. PGP HRM is also given for two years, the same as PGP. While PGPMX is also a two-year weekend management program created for working executives, EPGP is an intensive one-year residential curriculum for experienced professionals.

Admissions at IIM Indore
The regular intake to the IIM Indore is strictly based on scores obtained in entrance examinations. The institute is particularly famous for its two-year, full-time, residential postgraduate diploma in management, more commonly known as MBA. Admission to this program is quite selective and the candidates are eligible based on their CAT score. The minimum percentile in CAT that has been demanded for entry to IIM Indore in recent years has extended to 98% pointing out that the entrance is highly competitive. The admission cycle for the PGP program starts in parallel with the registrations for the CAT and other allied programs. Apart from the PGP, IIM Indore has provided many other programs which include the EPGP, FPM, and EPM. The admission for Indian students to these programs is done through national-level tests like CMAT, GPAT, and IPMAT. In terms of academic programs, the institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate, diploma, and doctoral programs in the area of Management.

Placements at IIM Indore
IIM Indore has once again strengthened its placement record by placing 100 % of students of its PGP and IPM batches of batch 2024. This success shows the focus of the institute as a premium education provider; it also underlines the institute’s close link with some of the leading firms in the market. As per the placement report for the latest season, the highest package for PGP and IPM was a record-high INR 100 LPA and the median salary was INR 25. 68 LPA. These numbers depict the quality of students that do enroll at IIM Indore and the stiff competition that is witnessed in the market as firms offer job placements.
Altogether more than 150 recruiters participated in IIM Indore 2024 placement and all the 594 students of the graduating batch were placed. Some of the premier recruiters were Accenture Strategy, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte India, EY, Infosys Consulting, KPMG, and others. All of them are highly selective about the candidates, and it is for the second consecutive year that all these companies were present at IIM Indore indicating towards the growing fame of the institute as a preferred hub for management talent. IIM Indore too had a great showing about placements during the summer of 2023. That year, the maximum salary offered to each PGP and IPM batch was a phenomenal 114 LPA while the median salary was 30. 21 LPA. The batch of PGP HRM 2023 also had a good placement, the highest package being INR 34. In terms of the package, 50 LPA is offered with an average package of INR 22. 65 LPA.
Recruiters during the placement of 2023, were over 160 and this re-establishes the fact that IIM Indore is one of the leading management institutes. The leading companies who placed their vacancies in 2023 were EY, Deloitte, Capgemini, Infosys, IBM, and KPMG which are known for launching great careers in multiple fields. The fact that such major companies have recruited consistently over the past years is a testament to the standard of education and human resources IIM Indore has produced. All in all, the successful placement of IIM Indore shows that its academic curriculum, industry interface, and the readiness of students to start off are praiseworthy. Recruiters are attracted to the institute as always the students are placed in some of the best organizations in India with excellent campus offers.
