About the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore: IIM Bangalore is one of the Top management schools in India and Asia. It was also given the title of Institute of National Importance under the IIM Act of 2017. There are a large number of students who enrol in the Executive education program. 5000 students enrol in the executive program and 1200 students spread across various degrees/ programs.

The college is one of the first IIMs established along with IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA), IIM Calcutta (IIMC), IIM Lucknow (IIML), IIM Kozhikode (IIMK), and IIM Indore (IIMI).

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore offers MBA, Executive MBA, and a few other management-related PG, PhD, and diploma programs. All programs at IIM Bangalore have entrance requirements. For final IIM Bangalore Admission, interested candidates must pass the national-level entrance exams and then show up for the institute-level selection processes.
With an MBA as its flagship program, IIM Bangalore Admission Procedure starts right after the CAT Result is declared. - Aditya Birla Scholarship - Merit-based scholarships given to 1st and 2nd year PGP students. The scholarship amount is INR1.75 Lakh per student.

- NTPC Scholarship Scheme - The scholarship amounts to INR 48,000 per year. Students belonging to SC/ ST/ PwD categories and are in their second year of management are considered eligible for it.
- Ministry of Tribal Affairs Scholarship (ST) - This scholarship covers full tuition expenses for students of PGP first year belonging to Scheduled Tribes.

22 May 2024, Bengaluru: The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has publicized the names of the recipients of the institute's Distinguished Alumni Awards for 2024. Instituted in 2007, the Distinguished Alumni Awards are accessible to alums in recognition of their achievements of exceptional merit besides excellence in their chosen field of endeavor – industry, management, entrepreneurship, research, academia, or social service. Each awardee accepts a citation, and their name is engraved on the Wall of Fame in the institute. This year, the honors will be presented on 10 June 2024, during the inauguration of the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP).
A DAA selection committee, including the Director, Dean of alum Relations in addition to Development, faculty members, IIMBAA (IIMB Alumni Association) President, and an earlier DAA awardee, reviewed the nominations received to shortlist the awardees based on a set of criteria that includes a stellar career trajectory, brilliant leadership qualities, thought leadership, impact, and contribution to society or industry, then more.
Hemant K Bhargava (PGP 1986)
Hemant Bhargava is a Distinguished Lecturer at the University of California Davis. An academic leader in decision analytics besides economic modeling of technology-driven markets, he co-founded and was the first Academic Director of the UC Davis Master of Science in Business Analytics. He served as Secondary Dean at the Graduate School of Management. He holds the Jerome and Elsie Suran Chair Chair in Technology Management and directs the Center for Analytics and Technology in Society. He received a BS Honors in Mathematics from the Delhi Campus, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, and an MS and PhD in Decision Sciences from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Hemant has remained on the faculty at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. The Pennsylvania State University has had Visiting Faculty positions at Carnegie Mellon University and Alexander Humboldt University. It has been a Visiting Scholar at Goethe University Frankfurt, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, University of Passau, and Indian School of Business. While in Monterey, Hemant served as a docent in the Point Sur Lighthouse. He is an avid tennis player, an enthusiastic music fan, and an ardent reader of history, politics, and personalities. He loves the outdoors, eating, making good food, and spending time with his family.
T Koshy (PGP 1989)
After completing his graduation, T Koshy next joined the industry, and in 1996, he became part of the start-up team that established National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL), the first reservoir in India that led to the transformation of capital markets and played a critical role in this transformation as the Executive Director. Construction on the disruption, Koshy played crucial roles in multiple national digital transformation projects, including the Tax Information Network, on payment for direct and indirect taxes, the Central Record Keeping Agency for pension, computerization of SEZs, and helping design the GST, among many others. He also served on many crucial boards established by the Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and RBI. Subsequently, he joined EY as a Partner, shaping the firm's and the country's digital transformation through many key projects, including the implementation of UIDAI, the implementation of the Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN), and CoWIN, the GST network, and the Digital Infrastructure for Data Sharing (DIKSHA).
Prabha Narasimhan (PGP 1997)
Prabha Narasimhan, the Managing Director of Colgate-Palmolive India since September 2022, is an experienced leader with a proven track record in the consumer goods industry. Over the years, she has confirmed strategic prowess and a deep understanding of market dynamics, driving growth besides innovation across various categories. During her long tenure at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), she ran the skincare division to remarkable market-beating growth, receiving accolades for her broad-based performance delivery across brands and sub-segments. Praveen Sood, Director of Central Bureau of Investigation, Government of India, joined the Indian Police Service in 1986 and was selected by Karnataka Cadre. He is a civil engineering graduate from IIT Delhi (1985) and did his postgraduate degree in public policy and management at IIM Bangalore (2005).
Praveen Sood has been heading India's premier exploring Agency, CBI, since May 2023. He has held several positions of responsibility in Karnataka, with Chief of the Police Force Karnataka from January 2020 till May 2023, and was in control of administering a force of 1.2 lakh personnel and law and order situation in the state; Chief of Traffic Police in Bangalore City (2008-11); Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru (2017); Commissioner of Police, Mysuru (2004-2007), besides Managing Director of Karnataka State Police Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited during 2013-14. As Principal Secretary of the Home Department in 2014, he was complex in policy formulation. He has also gained international experience working as an Adviser to the Government of Mauritius during 1999-2002. He was instrumental in implementing the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) besides the Scene of Mauritius.

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore Facilities
- School Blocks: By 1983, the academic buildings had been developed by Stein, Doshi & Bhalla architects under the direction of B. V. Doshi. Due to the growth in the number of students enrolling, a few blocks were later added. The different blocks house the various administrative offices, faculty offices, and classrooms.
- Library: Individuals, groups, businesses, academic institutions, and organisations can all access the library’s membership-based services. Alumni are welcome to access the library’s resources for a very low subscription fee.
- Housing for students and a sports complex
- Sports Facility: All full-time long-term programmes at IIMB have housing available. Apart from one executive tower and the executive housing at the Management Development Centre, the IIMB campus is home to 16 hostel blocks. There are 16 blocks in the hostel, from A through P. Soccer, cricket, tennis, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis and other sports all have their own facilities at IIMB. The IIMB has a sports area with tennis and badminton courts, a gym, and a pool.
- Internet Centre: The institute’s 600+ PCs and workstations have constant internet access. The university has complete WiFi coverage.

Any costs associated with student activities, such as printing and photocopying, are the responsibility of the student. Before a student leaves the campus, all outstanding debts must be paid. If students damage or fail to return the books they borrow from the library, they will be fined.
