IBS Gurgaon Selection Process 2024 including Micro-Presentation
The IBS admission selection process for the MBA/PGPM program at our nine IBS campuses for February 2025 will include two main components: a Micro-Presentation and a Personal Interview, each valued at 25 marks.
During the Personal Interview, candidates will be interviewed for 5 to 7 minutes. The Interview Panel will evaluate candidates based on their attitude and aspirations, general knowledge, communication abilities, clarity of thought and expression, and suitability for a management career.
The Micro-Presentation is designed to assess candidates' communication and presentation skills, and their capacity to think quickly and organize their ideas effectively.
Process:
- Candidates will choose a number between 1 and 100, with each number linked to a specific topic.
- After selecting a number, candidates will receive the associated topic.
- They will have one minute to prepare before delivering a three-minute presentation.
Flexibility:
- If a candidate finds the first topic challenging, they can opt for a second topic by selecting another number between 1 and 100.
- Candidates can choose between the two topics but will not have further opportunities to select again.
- Topics are randomized after each selection; thus, if another candidate picks the same number, they will receive a different topic.
Key Features of the Micro-Presentation
- The Micro-Presentation is an individual task rather than a Group Discussion. Only the candidate presenting will speak, with no interaction or discussion among participants. No questions will be asked during or after the presentation.
- Each candidate presents their topic in front of a group of 9 to 11 peers and 2 Panel Members.
Evaluation Parameters
The Selection Panel will evaluate candidates based on their ability to:
- Think quickly and organize your thoughts effectively.
- Present information clearly and concisely within the three-minute time frame.
Exhibit qualities such as:
- Communication skills
- Logical reasoning
- Relevance to the topic
- Body language
- Confidence
Tips for Candidates for Micro-Presentation
Candidates are encouraged to:
- Quickly outline key points or create an outline during the one-minute preparation period to organize their thoughts.
- Concentrate on delivering critical and relevant information clearly and succinctly.
- Practice maintaining a steady pace to ensure they stay within the three-minute limit.
- Display confidence, clarity, and appropriate body language throughout their presentation.
This new format aims to provide a more effective evaluation of essential skills while ensuring a fair and consistent selection process.
