Great Lakes Institute of Management Chennai is said to be one of top-ranked B-schools of India. The college was build in late 2004 by Dr. Bala V Balachandran, Professor Emeritus at Kellogg School of Management. This is said to be one of the youngest leading business schools of India. The college is currently ranking at 31st by NIRF Ranking 2023 under the management category. It is also ranking at 11th under the category of private colleges as revealed by IIRF Rankings 2023.Â
These flagship programs of Great Lakes Chennai are said to be one-year Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM) as well as two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). The college is also offering PGXPM for mid and senior-level professionals. PGPM FLEX which is a management program for working persons has also been introduced by the college.
As per NIRF Rankings 2023, Great Lakes Institute of Management Chennai has been ranked 31st in the management category.Â
PGDM course is structured to shape young leaders with less than 3 years of experience, and candidates with 2 years of experience are eligible for PGPM course. Admission to these courses is primarily based on CAT and XAT scores.Â
Those candidates who do not have these entrance exam scores can give the Great Lakes Aptitude Test (GLAT) test. Apart from this, admissions are also granted based on the merit in last qualifying exam.Â

The Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai has released its final placement report for PGDM and PGPM. This report states that from the PGDM and PGPM courses, 100% and 90% of students were placed respectively. The highest package offered for the PGPM course was INR 39.30 LPA and INR 37 LPA for the PGDM course. The average package at the Great Lakes Institute of Management was estimated to be INR 15.10 LPA and INR 17.30 LPA for PDDM and PGPM courses respectively. PGPM course students received offers from 30 new recruiters whereas PGDM course students received offers from 50 new recruiters.
