Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad

Government college of engineering is a Government autonomous college located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The college is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University,Aurangabad and all the courses are approved by AICTE.

The college was established in 1960 with an aim to excel in engineering and research education.

Government college of engineering is about 7km away from the  Mumbai airport.Trains can be boared from mumbai station.Bus connectivity is available from  Nasik, Pune, Mumbai, Indore to reach college.

Ample no of Under graduate and post graduate courses are available at Government college of engineering such as BE, ME, Ph.D, M.Tech, M.Sc. Highlights will be those courses which are available for part time and full time as well.

Faculties and staff are given training from time to time. Not just faculty weak students are also given employability improvement program. A huge attention is paid to Research and development. Several Research projects are taken by Under graduates as well as Post graduates Students. National and International Journals and conference papers are also published.

Few of the Research projects taken by the college includes,  “Use of Waste plastic in bitumen and bitumen mixes”, “Suitability and modification of subgrade soil of flexible pavement” ,  “Develeopment of test House for high voltage equipment” .

Industry –Institute interactions are common as Industrial visits are conducted frequently. This is possible because Governement college of engineering,Aurangabad has collaborations and MoU signed with following industries

 The institute also has an online grievance Redressal committee to handle complaints and RTIs.A women cell is present to take care of girls and women workforce.Anti Ragging committe also is formed during admission time.

Government college of engineering Aurangabad is one of the premier institutes to implement Phase -1 and Phase-II of Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme  (TEQIP).

The college also has its own annual national technical festival called WINGS.On this day various technical competitions occur at the campus and several technical and non technical lectures are delivered by  eminent personalities.Recently Mr Avinash Dharmadhikari, Former IAS  and Mr. Varun Agarwal, Entrepreneur & founder of Alma Mater graced the occassion.Day to Day seminars and skills enhancement programs are also conducted in collaborations with industries.

Placements and packages

Companies came from every domain including Software, Manufacturing , Automobile , Military organizations and consultancy firms to recruit students. 229 offers were made to the students of 2018 batch, which is quite a decent number. Tata Consultancy Services, Bajaj Auto Ltd. Bosch India Ltd, Mahindra & Tech ,L&T are few of the prominent recruiters. Salary could range from 3 to 8.4 lakh for IT students where as Core companies visiting the campus offer salary something between 2.4  to 5.50 lakh.
