The British era was the starting period from where the West Bengal Civil Services began. The British East India Company established an administrative structure where the Bengal’s civil services got their start. The WBSC was established on 1 April 1973 as the Bengal Public Service Commission. The WBSC was originated in its present shape as a result of the changes made by the composition and nature of Bengali’s civil services over time.

WBCS Full Form: Selection Process

WBSC Preliminary Examination 

  • The preliminary examination consists of objective-type questions and serves as a screening test. Applicants must pass this stage to process to the next one.
