West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test or the WB TET is conducted every year to recruit teachers for the primary sections in the schools of West Bengal. This is an initiative by the state government to select the best candidates through an examination to foster primary education in the state. The government of West Bengal conducted the examination in the last month of 2023, and since then applicants are eagerly awaiting the results.
WB TET Results: The initial notification on the official website (www.wbbpe.org) of the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) announced that the declaration of WB Primary TET results will be made by the end of June 2024. The result is expected to be released in online mode with the roll numbers of shortlisted candidates. Applicants can check their results and scorecard by entering their login credentials (registration number and date of birth) on the official website.
The WB TET was conducted on the 24th of December, 2023 in the offline mode. Candidates from all across the state took their exams in various examination centers. And now they are eagerly waiting to check their performance. However, there has been no further official notification about the declaration of the results. Candidates are therefore advised to keep visiting the official website of WBBPE to not miss out on essential information.
After the TET exam 2024 concluded in the previous year, the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) made a big move by releasing the answer key on May 7, 2024. This will give the candidates a medium to assess their performance in the exam before the declaration of results. The offline exam consisted of a total of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), where each question carries 1 mark. Additionally, there was no negative marking on the paper, and the candidates received 3 hours to complete the exam.

Candidates who have completed their senior secondary (or its equivalent) from a recognized education board with a minimum of 55% marks are eligible to apply for the WB TET Exam.
The applicants can choose their preferred language between English and Bengali at the time of their application process. It is not mandatory to know Bengali to appear for the test.
The minimum age for the exam is 18 years and the maximum age for the exam is 35 years. At the same time, the candidate should also be a resident of India.
To appear for the Teachers Eligibility Test, a candidate needs to have a B.Ed. degree. It is a mandatory qualification to register as teachers in Government schools.
The passing marks for General category is 60%, while the passing marks for the reserved category is 55%. These provisions are made under the rules and regulations set by the Government.
