UPTET 2018 which is a state level qualifying exam conducted by Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) for recruitment of qualified teachers in primary and Upper Primary Level at various Govt. schools of Uttar Pradesh. This year also UPBEB has released schedule for Uttar Pradesh Teacher's Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2018 and the exam will be conducted on October 28, 2018.

It is very important to know all the dates related to the specific exam beforehand and prepare for the same accordingly, here is the list of important dates for UPTET 2018:

UPTET 2018 Eligibility Criteria:

UPTET has divided its applicant into two categories of eligibility depending on the class, which candidate would like to opt for teaching post qualifying the exam. The categories are:

  • Applicants for teaching primary classes (Class 1 to 5)
  • Applicants for teaching secondary classes(Class 6 to 8)

The qualification criteria for both the type of candidates are different as mentioned below:

UPTET Qualification of Primary Teachers (Class 1 to 5):

  • Candidate must have scored at least 50% marks in 10+2.
  • Candidates should have a graduation degree or should be studying in the final year Basic Training Certificate (BTC) from an institute affiliated to NCTE.
  • Candidates with a graduate degree or should be enrolled in the final year of D.Ed. (Specialization) in any institution affiliated to RCI.
  • Candidate completed graduation degree or candidate studying in the 2nd year of BTC (Urdu) or already completed from NCTE affiliated institute.
  • The candidate who has completed their graduation degree or those who currently enrolled in final year/completed Diploma in Teaching from Aligarh Muslim University.
  • For Teaching Urdu, the candidate who have completed their graduation or those who are Moa'llim-e-Urdu degree holders from Aligarh Muslim University before August 11, 1997, are eligible.
  • Candidates who are currently enrolled in the final year B.EL.ED is also eligible.

UPTET Qualification of Secondary Teachers (Class 6 to 8)

  • Candidate must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 (intermediate examination).
  • Candidates who have completed their graduation degree or those who at present are studying in the 2nd year of BTC in an institute affiliated to NCTE.
  • Candidates who have completed their graduation or post-graduation degree with an aggregate of 50% marks or those who have passed or currently enrolled in 2nd year of B.Ed in any institution affiliated to NCTE.
  • Candidates who have completed their graduation or post-graduation with the minimum of 50% marks or those who have passed/currently studying in 2nd year of L.T. in an institute affiliated to NCTE.
  • Candidates who have completed their graduation/ post-graduation with the minimum of 50% marks or those who have passed or currently studying in 2nd year of B.Ed (Specialization) in an institute affiliated to RCI.
  • Candidates who have scored 50% marks in 10+2 and are currently studying in the final year or passed B.Ed. programme.
  • Candidates who are currently enrolled in the final year or passed B.S.C.Ed.
  • Candidates who are currently enrolled in the final year or passed B.EL.ED.

Age limit to apply for UPTET 2018:

The age of the candidate applying for UPTET 2018 must be between 18 Years and 35 Years. Candidates who belong to reserved categories would be given age relaxation as per the guidelines of the government of India, and mentioned:

How to apply for How to Apply for UPTET 2018

The registration process to apply for UPTET 2018 is going to start shortly on September 17, 2018. Candidate needs to apply for the examination through online mode by following below mentioned steps:

  • Online Registration on the portal at official website upbasiceduboard.gov.in.
  • Payment of Application Fee
  • Uploading Documents
  • Submitting application

Online registration:

  • Applicants of UPTET need to enlist themselves on the official website of UPBEB (upbasiceduboard.gov.in.). It is mandatory to fill the columns that are marked with '*'.
  • Fill in the important sections, for example, Name, educational qualifications, personal details and ensure the accuracy of the information provided.
  • It is compulsory to choose the district at the time of UPTET Registration from which candidate wants to show up from.
  • Candidate needs to specify the personal photo identity card and its ID number at the session of UPTET Registration.

Payment of Application Fee:

  • The application fee for UPTET 2018 is must to pay at the time of UPTET 2018 registration.
  • The registration fee can be paid either online or offline:
  • Online payments can be done by SBI Internet Banking / Debit Cards / Credit Cards and internet banking facility of other banks.
  • Offline payment can be done by taking print out of e-challan from SBI bank.

Uploading Documents:

  • After making the payment for registration, candidates need to upload all the necessary documents online which includes a recent photograph, 10+2 mark sheet and proof of fulfilling the eligibility.
  • Candidate applying through reserved category will have to upload the certificates and documents before the closing date in support of their claim.

Submitting application:

  • After completion of the form, the candidate needs to click on the submit tab to complete the process, a computer-generated registration id number and password will appear on the screen after successful submission.
  • Use this registration number and password to log in and check complete application form displayed on the screen. Candidate can take the print out of the application form for future use.
  • Candidates applying for UPTET have the privilege to apply either PGT or TGT. However, if any candidate wants to apply for both the posts, the candidate needs to fill two different application form in that case.
