Its main aim is to ensure the smooth and efficient disbursement of funds to eligible students. The portal enhances transparency in the application process and document submission. Moreover, scholarship funds from different departments are transferred directly to beneficiaries' accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). SSP Scholarship 2024: Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for any scholarship listed on the SSP scholarship portal, applicants must first meet the primary requirement of being a legal resident of Karnataka. Additionally, specific criteria must be fulfilled depending on the scholarship type. Here are the detailed eligibility conditions:
Post-matric Scholarship for SC Students
- Residency: Applicants must be residents of Karnataka.
- Academic Performance: A minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grades in the latest final examination is required.
- Family Income: The annual income of the student's family should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh.
Post-matric Scholarship for ST Students
- Residency: Applicants must be residents of Karnataka.
- Academic Performance: A minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grades in the latest final examination is required.
- Family Income: The annual income of the student's family should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh.
Vidyasiri Scholarship
- Residency: Applicants must be residents of Karnataka and belong to either the SC/ST or minority community.
- Attendance: A minimum attendance of 75% throughout the academic year is mandatory.
- Family Income: For SC/ST candidates, the annual family income should not exceed INR 2 lakh, and for OBC candidates, it should not exceed INR 1 lakh.
Post-matric Scholarship for Backward Classes Students
- Residency: Applicants must be residents of Karnataka and belong to the Backward Classes category.
- Educational Level: Pursuing studies at the post-matriculation level is required.
- Academic Performance: A minimum of 50% marks (for category 1) and 60% marks (for categories 2A, 3A, and 3B) in the previous examination is necessary.
- Family Income: The annual family income should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh.
Fee Reimbursement for Backward Classes Students
- Residency: Applicants must be residents of Karnataka.
- Academic Performance: A minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grades in the latest final examination is required.
- Family Income: The annual income of the student's family should not exceed INR 2 lakh.
Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities
- Domicile: Applicants must possess a domicile in Karnataka.
- Educational Level: Enrollment in Class 11, 12, graduate, postgraduate, technical or vocational courses, M.Phil., or PhD is required.
- Academic Performance: A minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grades in the previous final examination is necessary.
- Family Income: The annual income should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh from all sources.
- Minority Community: Applicants must identify with minority communities like Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, and Zoroastrian/Parsi.
Merit cum Means Scholarship
- Domicile: Applicants must have a domicile in Karnataka.
- Educational Level: Should be in Class 9.
- Academic Performance: A minimum of 55% or equivalent marks in Class 8 is required (with a 5% relaxation for SC/ST students).
- Family Income: The family's income must be less than INR 2.5 lakhs from all sources.
Fee Reimbursement for Engineering and Diploma Engineering SC/ST Students
- Domicile: Applicants should have a domicile in Karnataka.
- Family Income: The annual family income should fall between INR 2.5 lakh and 10 lakhs.
- Defence Scholarship: Specifically available for ST/SC students whose parents are serving in the Army, Navy, or Air Force, or working as JCO/NCO/lower rank personnel.
Fee Reimbursement for SC/ST Medical Students
- Domicile: Applicants should have a domicile in Karnataka.
- Family Income: The annual family income should fall between INR 2.5 lakh to 10 lakhs.
Post-matric Scholarship for Karnataka State Brahmin
- Residency: Applicants must be residents of Karnataka and come from a Brahmin community.
- Family Income: The annual income of the student's family should not exceed INR 8 lakh.
- Academic Performance: A minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grades in the latest final examination is required.
SSP Scholarship 2024: Documents Required
The students willing to apply should keep in mind that the documents mentioned below are very crucial. If students don’t have the required documents, their application will be rejected. So, it is highly recommended to keep all the documents ready beforehand:

SSP Scholarship 2024: How to Apply?
Applications for all types of SSP scholarships can be made online through the SSP portal only. Applicants can follow the steps given below to apply for any of the scholarships mentioned above:
Step 1- Creating an Account
- Begin by visiting the official website of the State Scholarship Portal.
- Locate and click on the designated link to apply for the "Post-Matric Scholarship for the Financial Year 2022-23."
- Proceed to click on the "Create Account" option.
- Complete the required fields, acknowledge consent, and then click on the "Proceed" button.
- After doing this, you need to link your Aadhaar with your bank account. After that, provide your email, contact number, OTP, and then tap on “Submit.”
- Enter your certificate information and click "Proceed."
- If you have a ration card, click "Yes" and enter the number; otherwise, you must apply for one to proceed.
- After entering the ration card number, a list of family members will appear. Select the applicant's name from the list and click "Check" to proceed.
- Finally, create a password and click "Submit" to finish the procedure.
Step 2- Student Login:
- You should begin by going to the official website of the SSP scholarship.
- Locate and click the "Student Login" button that appears on the dashboard.
- To log in securely, provide your username, password, and captcha.
- After successfully logging in, fill out the scholarship application form, making sure to include all of the relevant information.
- Attach all essential documents and submit your completed application.
Step 3: Online Attestation of Documents
Applicants on the SSP scholarship portal must have their documents electronically certified by their college's e-Attestation officer before proceeding with their application. The stages below detail the process for applicants:
- Go to the official SSP scholarship website and browse to the homepage.
- To proceed, locate and select the "Click here for e-authentication portal (Students)" option.
- A new window will appear, inviting candidates to input their Aadhaar number, captcha code, and agree by ticking the appropriate box.
- Click the "Verify" button to begin the verification process.
- After successful verification, candidates will be led to their student profile page.
- Fill up the relevant information, such as the name of the college, university, course, and so on, and then upload the required papers.
- Access the "Aadhar Consent" form, fill it out, and download it for further processing.
- Visit your college's e-Attestation official to get the form and original documents attested.
- Once the officer has completed the e-Attestation process, the documents will be shown in the "Approved Documents" section for verification.
