SSC Full Form: The Full Form of SSC is the Staff Selection Commission, which is the second-biggest organization to conduct the recruitment exams for various government jobs after UPSC. The examination is conducted for the combined graduate level (Graduation) and above. The SSC Exams are highly competitive and every year millions of students apply for these exams, however only a few select can clear these exams.
SSC Latest Updates: The SSC GD Results for 2024 will soon be declared on the official website ssc.nic.in. Candidates can log in to the website and check the results. THE SSC MTS Registration began on 7th May 2024, and the last date to apply is 6th June 2024. Along with this, the SSC CHSL Notification was released on 8th April and the candidates could apply till 7th of May. The SSC CHSL Exam is scheduled for 1 - 12th July 2024.

The idea of the Staff Selection Commission was put up during a parliament session of 1967-68. The major aim of this commission was to provide jobs and posts for people under the low category. In 1975 the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms established this commission under the name of Subordinate Service Commission. However, on September 26, 1977, the commission was renamed to Staff Selection Commission. Further, from Jun 1, 1999, under the guidance of several reports, the new constitution and reforms were implemented over the SSC.
The SSC office currently works in collaboration with the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The office is held by a chairman along with the secretary-cum-controller of Examination. The secretary-cum-controller of the examination position is higher up in contrast to that of the additional secretary of the Government of India.
The main headquarters of the Staff Selection Commission is situated in New Delhi and all the other offices located across India are called the regional offices. Some of these offices are located in Prayagraj, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Guwahati. The Selection Commission has sub-regional offices located in Raipur and Chandigarh.
There are majorly 3 different types of categories of cities for the SSC Exam. These cities are divided into X category, Y category, and Z category. The bifurcation of these cities is given below.
Cities Included in X Category: Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai & Kolkata
Cities Included in Y Category: Patna, Lucknow, Bhopal, Ranchi, Guwahati, Indore, Bilaspur, Jaipur, Rajpur, Rangpur, Dibrugarh, Rajkot, Bareilly, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Mandi, Sangli, Ujjain, Icchapur Nagar etc.
Cities Included in Z Category: Nagarol, Turkapur, Rajgangpur, Jabalpur, Barnala, Ratlam, Singrauli, Jhansi, Bahraich, Rewa, Damoh, Jalandhar, Sonipat, Jodhpur etc.

The SSC Examination is conducted in two different stages. The first stage is the preliminary examination and stage 2 is the main examination.
