National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is accepting online applications for the PRAGATI Scholarship for Undergraduate (UG) and Diploma Girl students. Students who are interested and eligible can apply online using NSP's official portal. The Pragati Scholarship Scheme, which is being implemented by AICTE, aims to provide aid to girls pursuing technical education. Education is one of the most significant ways to provide women with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to fully participate in the development process. "Empowering Women through Technical Education" aims to provide young women with the opportunity to further their education and prepare for a prosperous future.

Pragati Scholarship 

To assist all female students who desire to further their education and technical training. The All India Council for Technical Education has established the AICTE Pragati Scholarship to assist students. All applicants who meet the eligibility requirements can complete the application form for this scholarship. Under this initiative, financial help will be provided to female students so that they can complete their studies without fear of financial hardship. Pragati Scholarship is a government programme administered by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Every year, 5,000 scholarships are awarded to deserving female students who wish to pursue technical education under this scholarship scheme. Scholarship winners receive ₹50,000 a year.

Pragati Scholarship: Eligibility Criteria 

Female applicants for the Pragati Scholarship must be enrolled in an AICTE-approved college/institution. Details about the AICTE Pragati Scholarship eligibility criteria are provided below:

For Undergraduate (UG):

Female candidates must be admitted to either the first or second year of a degree-level course by lateral entry at an AICTE-approved institution in the relevant year.

A maximum of two girl children per family are eligible.

During the current fiscal year, a family's total annual income should not exceed Rs. 8 lakh. A legitimate income certificate issued by the State/UT Government must be enclosed.

For Diploma Students:

  • The girl candidate should be admitted to the first year of a diploma level course or the second year of a diploma level course through lateral entry into any AICTE-approved institution in the relevant year.
  • A maximum of two girls per family are eligible.
  • During the current fiscal year, a family's total annual income should not exceed Rs. 8 lakh. A legitimate income certificate issued by the State/UT Government must be enclosed.

Pragati Scholarship 2023-24 - Key Documents

There are a few documents that applicants must have with them when filling out the Pragati Scholarship application. Candidates must upload scanned copies of the following documents to complete their application.

  • Class 10 marksheet
  • Class 12 mark sheet
  • Aadhaar card and passport-sized photo of the applicant
  • Signature of the candidate.
  • Documents required for admission to first-year degree/diploma programmes include an annual family income certificate from the previous year, provided by the Tehsildar or higher authority, and a letter from the Centralised Admission Authority for the current academic year.
  • Receipt of paid tuition for the current school year.
  • Aadhaar-seeded bank passbook containing the applicant's name, account number, IFSC code, and photo pasted at a suitable position, duly signed by the Manager and attached with a rubber stamp of the bank.
  • Certificate issued by the Director/Principal/HOD according to the required format.
  • Attested copy of caste certificate, if the candidate is applying for the SC/ST/OBC category.
  • A duly signed declaration by parents in accordance with the specified format stating that the information given by the applicant is correct and that the scholarship amount will be returned if any fraudulent information is uncovered at any point.

Pragati Scholarship: Rewards

Pragati Scholarship Amount for Diploma: 

  • Rs. 50,000/- per year for each year of study, up to a maximum of three years for first-year admitted students and two years for second-year admitted students through lateral entry, as a lump sum payment towards college fees, computer purchases, stationery, books, equipment, software, and so on. There will be no further grants payable in place of hostel and medical fees, etc.

Pragati Scholarship Amount for Undergraduate (UG): 

  • Rs. 50,000/- per year for each year of study, up to a maximum of four years for first-year admitted students and three years for second-year admitted students through lateral entry, as a lump sum payment towards college fees, computer purchases, stationery, books, equipment, software, and so on. There will be no further grants payable in place of hostel and medical fees, etc. There is no requirement to submit documentary verification for the foregoing while receiving benefits.

Pragati Scholarship 2023-24: Application Process

To assist applicants with the application procedure, the AICTE permits them to complete the Pragati scholarship application form via the NSP Portal. Follow the steps outlined below to complete the application form:

  • First, applicants must register on the NSP Portal by clicking the 'New Registration' button.
  • To finish the registration, carefully read the requirements and fill out all of the required information.
  • Following successful registration, candidates will receive an application ID and password via their registered mobile number.
  • To complete the Pragati application form, applicants must first log in to the NSP Portal using their application ID & password.
  • Applicants will be requested to reset their password (a required step).
  • After that, applicants must fill out the scholarship application form.
  • Candidates must provide scanned copies of all needed documents and complete the application form.

Pragati Scholarship: Login Procedure

To log into the official portal, follow the simple steps outlined below:

  • First, visit the Pragati Scholarship for Girls' official website.
  • The homepage will appear on your screen.
  • Now you need to enter your email and password.
  • Successfully log into the portal.

Pragati Scholarship: Selection Process 

  • Diploma: Candidates will be chosen based on their performance in the qualifying examination for the Technical Diploma course at any AICTE-approved institution, either in the first or second year (through lateral entry). The percentage of marks obtained in the 10th/equivalent examination will be considered.
  • Undergraduates (UG): The selection of candidates for the Pragati Scholarship will be based solely on the merit of the qualifying examination to pursue the Technical Degree course from any of the AICTE approved institutions, i.e. in the first year or second year (through lateral entry only) on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in the 10+2/equivalent exam.

Pragati Scholarship: Rules for Renewal

To successfully renew your scholarship for the second year, you must follow the rules and restrictions listed below:

  • All candidates are required to upload the correct documentation. They can upload them by logging into the portal using their registered user ID and password.
  • All documents submitted by candidates must be readable.
  • Documents must be in PDF, JPG, or JPEG formats.
  • If the documents are not submitted in JPG format, try uploading them in PNG or PDF format.
  • The document's size should not be higher than 2MB.
  • Mention tuition and other fees in the space provided.
  • Upload the tuition receipt issued by the institution.
  • Please upload the promotion certificate, tuition fee receipt, and miscellaneous fee receipt, along with a renewal form.
  • Before finally submitting the application, candidates should confirm that the details entered or documents uploaded by them are correct.
  • After submitting, candidates cannot re-enter any left details or upload any left documents.

Pragati Scholarship: Renewal

To renew your scholarship, follow the simple method outlined below:

  • First, visit the Pragati Scholarship for Girls' official website.
  • The homepage will display on your screen.
  • Now you'll need to enter your email and password.
  • Successfully log into the portal.
  • Click the option labeled Renewal Application.
  • Select the year of application form submission as fresh.
  • Now, pick the Login for Candidate option.
  • The application form will display on your screen.
  • Fill in all the details.
  • Upload your documents.
  • Successfully submit the form.
  • Take a printout of the completed application form.

Pragati Scholarship: Terms and Conditions

There are certain terms and conditions that candidates should be aware of. The Pragati Scholarship rules and conditions are detailed below:

  • Only students who have enrolled in the first year of their degree/diploma programme during the current academic year are eligible to apply for this grant.
  • Scanned copies of the applicant's passport-size photo and signature must be uploaded in JPG/JPEG format while filling out the application form. The photo's file size should not exceed 200 kb, and the signature should not exceed 50 kb.
  • Students admitted under the management quota are not eligible to apply for the Pragati Scholarship.
  • Applicants must hold a general savings account at a bank. They cannot use the FRILL/Minor/Joint account.
  • Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) is a method of directly transferring scholarship funds into the selected candidate's bank account.
  • Scholarships for degrees and certificates are transferable in the event that no suitable applicants are available in any of the degree or diploma level programmes.
