NEET PG: Rank Types

The NEET PG ranks are classified into three categories:

All India Rank (AIR)

The AIR reflects the candidate's overall position in the merit list, i.e. the overall rank obtained by a candidate in comparison to other candidates who took the test.

All India 50% Quota (AIQ) Rank

AIQ indicates a candidate's position among other candidates who applied for All India 50% seats. According to the NEET PG Reservation Policy, AIQ is only applicable to 50% of total PG seats in government medical colleges across the country. The remaining 50% of seats are reserved for candidates with state residency.

NEET PG 2022 Tie Breaker Criteria

In the event of a tie, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) uses specific criteria to prepare a merit list. If two or more candidates score the same marks in the exam, the following NEET PG 2022 Tie Breaker criteria are used in descending order for resolution:

  • There are fewer negative responses.
  • Higher marks in Part C of the examination
  • There were fewer negative responses in Part C of the question paper.
  • Higher marks in Part B of the examination
  • There were fewer negative responses in Part B of the question paper.
  • Higher marks in Part A of the examination
  • There were fewer negative responses in Part A of the question paper.
  • Candidate who is older in age

Factors Determining NEET PG 2023 Expected Cut-Off

As you may be aware, a cutoff score is the minimum number of marks required to qualify for the NEET PG 2023. The following are the three main factors that influence the NEET PG exam cutoff:

  • The total number of candidates who took the entrance exam
  • The level of difficulty of the NEET question paper
  • The total number of available seats

NEET PG 2023 Expected Cut-Off Merit List

Based on the scores obtained, NBE will prepare the NEET PG 2023 Merit list, which will include the names of candidates who qualified for the entrance test with less than 50% AIQ. NEET PG 2023 Counselling

NEET PG Counseling 2023 will be conducted for 50% of the seats under the All India Quota (AIQ) based on the NEET PG Rank list prepared by the NBE. Eligible candidates can secure admission to Central/Deemed Universities, ESIC, and AFMC. Candidates must register for counseling and specify their preferred college or institution, as well as the reservation category, in order to participate in the NEET PG Seat Allotment process.
