About MES
The Military Engineer Services (MES), which was raised in 1923, is one of the pillars of the Corps of Engineers of the Indian Army which provides rear-line engineering support to the Armed Forces. It is one of the largest construction and maintenance agencies in India. It has a large number of units and subunits spread across the entire country to provide engineering support to various formations of the Army, Air Force, Navy, Ordinance Factories, KV Sangathan, Border Road Organisation, and DRDO. MES is a military organization but has both Army and Civilian components of officers and other subordinate staff. While the execution of all construction works is through contracts, the execution of all maintenance services is both through contracts as well as departmentally employed labor (DEL). The role of MES is dual i.e. to render both engineering advice and also to execute the works. The Military Engineering Services are responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of all works, buildings, airfields, dock installations, etc. along with necessary services such as military roads, bulk water and electricity supply, drainage, refrigeration, and furniture, required by the Army, Navy and Air Force in India. The MES functions under the overall control of the Engineer-in-Chief, who is the adviser to the Ministry of Defence and the three Services on operational and peacetime construction engineering. Engineer-in-Chief of MES is assisted by six Command Chief Engineers which further oversee 31 Zonal Chief Engineers and each zone is further divided into CWEs and independent GEs. Age Limit Criteria 2024 as per Official Website
· For MTS – The age Limit for MTS is between 18 and 25 years.
· For MATE - The age Limit for Mate is between 18 and 27 years.
· For Draughtsman - The age Limit for Draughtsman is between 18 and 30 years.
· For Storekeeper - The age Limit for Storekeeper is between 18 and 27 years.
Educational Qualification 2024
· For MTS – Candidates must have cleared the 10th examination to apply for this post.
· For Mate – Candidates must have cleared the 10th examination and an ITI diploma to apply for this post.
· For Storekeeper - Candidates must have cleared the 12th examination and typing test to apply for this post.
· For Draughtsman - Candidates must have 3 years of diploma to apply for this post.
