The choice of management course, which will pave the road for your desired job, should be the primary factor considered when deciding whether to apply for an MBA. This choice involves in-depth investigation into each MBA college's course offerings. Other crucial considerations include government recognition, eligibility requirements, the admissions process, tuition costs, the availability of a dorm, pedagogy, infrastructure, and job placements, among others. Based on these criteria, institutions for an MBA or PGDM course must be narrowed down.
Finding out about their MBA admissions procedure and selection criteria is the next step once the list is prepared. While some MBA colleges choose their applicants based on candidates' graduation rates, many MBA universities accept applicants based on scores from the common admission exam.
The institutes evaluate each applicant with GD/PI in order to determine attributes that cannot be determined by an applicant's academic record or admission exam performance (CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, SNAP).
They assess the applicant's personality traits, such as those that make up a good business manager's foundation

The Indian Institutes of Management, also known as IIMs, are the first name that comes to mind while considering top MBA programmes in India. The five top campuses—IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, and IIM Kozhikode—of the top-ranked MBA college, which has 20 campuses, are the most coveted. More than two lakh prospective MBA students take the CAT, the IIM's common entrance exam, each year in order to enrol in MBA, PGDM, and PGP programmes. The CAT exam and GD/PI are both part of the IIMs' admissions process.
In India, the CAT exam is administered in the final week of November at over 400 centers in 156 cities (CAT 2024 will be administered on November 27). In January, the results were announced. The 20 IIMs evaluate test takers based on their CAT scores and academic records after the CAT result is announced. Each IIM has a predetermined CAT cut off percentile for the purpose of shortlisting applicants.
Here are some criteria used to choose candidates for IIM WAT/GD-PI:
Each candidate receives a Composite Score after the WAT/GD-PI is finished by adding up their marks on various criteria.
Each IIM uses a different amount of weight to consider each of the above mentioned parameters.
