The MAT scoring system stands out in its unique nature. Instead of the conventional raw scores out of 160 or 200, the scorecard discloses a scaled score out of 800 marks. Correct answers earn a reward of +1 mark, while incorrect responses result in a penalty of -0.25 marks.
The Merit Score is calculated exclusively from four sections, and although the Indian & Global Environment score is presented separately, it does not contribute to the computation of merit or percentile on the scorecard.

Business schools that take MAT scores into account will shortlist candidates based on their specified cutoff criteria. The institutes participating in MAT will disclose their MAT 2023 cutoff shortly after the announcement of MAT results. Essentially, candidates who meet the cutoff criteria are selected for the subsequent selection process. MAT 2023 cutoffs may be expressed as either a percentile or a numerical score. The cutoff scores, which range from 250 to 700, vary among different institutes. These cutoffs are influenced by various factors, including the difficulty level of the test, the overall number of test-takers, the available seats in an institute, and more.

The counseling process for MAT 2023 will be managed by the participating institutes; AIMA does not handle this part of the program. The counseling process, which includes group discussion and personal interview components in the selection process, will begin as soon as the MAT results are announced.
The selection process for the MAT Entrance Exam 2023 comprises a written test, Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI). The written test is also known as the Writing Ability Test (WAT). It is essential to recognize that not all participating institutes for MAT 2023 conduct all three stages of the selection process. The final admission decision is based on the candidate's performance throughout all phases of the MAT 2023 selection process. Moreover, some institutes may consider prior academic records (scores in 10th, 12th, and graduation), professional work experience, and other achievements when extending the final admission offer.

BSc Nursing Entrance Exam: Important Dates, Application Fee, Eligibility, Syllabus, Top Colleges
By - Chetna Verma 2024-06-19 11:49:41 , 4 min readA MAT composite score of 400 or higher is considered good. Most MBA colleges that accept the MAT choose students with MAT scores ranging from the 80th to the 99th percentile.
MAT Exam is undoubtedly the easier exam for admission to MBA when compared to the Top MBA Exam, CAT Exam. The difficulty level of the CAT Exam is higher than that of the MAT Exam as CAT Exam has the sectional limit which makes it even more difficult to be cracked by MBA Aspirants.
The MAT exam fee is Rs. 2975/- for two MAT exams. The only way to pay for the MAT exam 2023 is online. The MAT exam fee is payable by credit card, debit card (ATM card), or net banking.
In order to apply for the MAT Exam 2023, candidates must visit the official website of AIMA MAT and register themselves for the upcoming exam as the exam is conducted 4 times a year. They must register themselves, fill the application form, upload the required documents and process the payment of MAT Fees.
The MAT exam requires a bachelor's degree in any field from a recognised university. Students in their final year of graduation or those awaiting results are also eligible to take the MAT.
AIMA has introduced a new exam mode, MAT IBT, beginning in May 2020. IBT stands for Remote Proctored Internet Based Mode. This can be taken from home, as IBT exam candidates can appear from the comfort of their own homes rather than going to an exam centre.
The MAT exam is used for admission to MBA and PGDM/PGP programmes at over 700 B-Schools in India. The exam is given four times a year, in February, May, September, and December.
