Uttar Pradesh is commonly known as UP and is considered as the largest state in the country in terms of population as a parameter. Currently, Uttar Pradesh’s (UP) population is recorded at around 257,054,568 (approximately) which makes this state the largest populated state in the country. The other states which come next in the row are Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal, etc. On the other hand, Sikkim is recorded as the least populated state in the country with a population of around 6.90 Lakhs (as per the last census). Largest Populated State: Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh is the most populated and fourth-largest state in the country. The population size of UP is 25 crore which is 17% of India’s total population. The capital of Uttar Pradesh is Lucknow which is admired because of multi-cultural diversity. The largest cities of UP are Kanpur, Lucknow, Agra, Varanasi, Meerut, and Prayagraj. The population of Uttar Pradesh has been continuously rising at a very high growth rate. According to a recent survey, a significant increase in the proportion of young adults and children has been recorded.
Uttar Pradesh is very well known for its history. The majority of people in Uttar Pradesh follow Hinduism as their religion. Their mother tongue is Hindi and it is spoken by the maximum percentage of the people over there. The literacy rate of males is 81.8% and for females, it is 63.4%.
