In the past, only candidates with Karnataka domicile were eligible to take the KMAT exam. However, starting from 2018, this domicile criterion was removed, allowing candidates from other states to appear for the exam. Candidates must have obtained a minimum aggregate of 50 percent or equivalent CGPA in the final year examination of their Bachelor's degree. For candidates belonging to the SC/ST category, the minimum aggregate required is 45 percent or equivalent CGPA.
