One of the oldest and most renowned universities in the state of Kerala is the University of Kerala. Prior to becoming the University of Kerala, it was known as the University of Travancore. The University of Kerala, which opened 10 colleges in the state of Travancore, was the sixteenth university in India. The university's school of distance education was founded in 1976 with the intention of becoming a pioneer in the field. The University of Kerala offers a wide range of undergraduate programs in a variety of Science, Commerce, and Arts streams, allowing deserving and qualified candidates to pursue professional education in addition to their income. Relaxation of the Qualifying Examination’s Grade Points and Marks: Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Category: A relaxation of 5% from the required minimum on the Qualifying Examination is permitted. Persons with Disabilities Category: A 5% increase over the minimum required on the qualifying examination is permitted.
