KAS Syllabus: Preliminaries and Main Cours

Karnataka Public Service Commission recruitment through Gazette Probation Examination (GPE) for various Group A and Group B posts. It is the KPSC GPE entry for jobs in Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS).KAS officers who perform well can also be promoted to IAS officers.

KPSC will prepare the KAS curriculum for the probation exam published in the official gazette. These KPSC guidelines are applicable for the Group Executive Manager position. Inspector General of Police, Deputy Labour Commissioner, Tehsildar and others.

What is the eligibility criteria for the Karnataka  PSC KAS exam?

There are two criteria for the KPSC KAS exam:

  1. Kerala PSC Academic Qualification
  2. Kerala PSC Age Limit

 

Karnataka  PSC Eligibility

KAS Exam – Academic Qualification

For posts:

  1. Stream-1 Post
  2. Stream-2 Post
  3. Stream-3 Post

Bachelor's degree in any subject from an institution recognized by the Government of Karnataka or an institution established by the UGC or a National Institute established by the Government of India

Karnataka PSC – Age Limit

Stream-1 Post

Minimum Age – 21

Maximum Age – 32

(Candidates who have born in between 02.01.1987 and 01.01.1998)

Stream-2 Post

Minimum Age – 21

Maximum Age – 40

(Candidates who have born in between 02.01.1979 and 01.01.1998)

Stream-3 Post

Must not have completed 50 years of age on the 1st January of the exam year

Karnataka  PSC KAS – Age Relaxation

The conditions for the age relaxation for the Karnataka  Administrative Exam are given below:

Ex-Servicemen

The maximum age limit will be relaxed for the period of service in the Defence Forces and the period of post-demobilization unemployment, which can be up to five years.

The KPSC KAS exam  is conducted in three stages:

  • Stage 1: Preliminary Exam – 2 papers – objective type (MCQs)
  • Stage 2: Mains – 7 papers – essay/descriptive type (Earlier there were 2 optional papers which have been scrapped now.)
  • Stage 3: Interview

KAS Prelims Syllabus

The Civil Service (Preliminary) Examination Directorate examines the candidates taking the exam. As per the 9th Amendment of the Karnataka Gazette Probation Officer Recruitment (Eligibility through Competitive Examination) 2011, there are two question papers for the KAS Preliminary Examination.

The KAS syllabus for Prelims is given below:

  • 100 objective type questions – 2 marks each
  • 0.25 marks Negative Marking
  • 2-hour exam duration

  • Humanities – 60 questions

Syllabus:

KAS Mains Syllabus

KPSC KAS Mains exam is divided into 9 papers, 2 of which are qualifications. English and Kannada texts are required. Detailed information about the KPSC KAS Mains exam is as follows:

 

KPSC KAS English Syllabus

The total score of the English exam, which is the passing exam, is 150 points. For this reason, the scores received by the candidates in this document will not be taken into account when preparing the final list. However, students must score at least 35% to pass the exam.
