What is JoSAA Opening and Closing Rank 2024?
JoSAA Opening and Closing Rank 2024 are the ranks that determine candidates' admission to a course provided by an institute. If a student enrols in an Indian Institute of Technology, his/her admission is based on JEE Advanced rank while admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs is based on the ranks obtained by candidates in JEE Main Exam. JoSAA Opening and Closing ranks are the ranks obtained by candidates in respective exams.
JoSAA Cutoff 2024
JoSAA will be releasing the JoSAA cutoff for all the rounds in the form of opening and closing ranks. The authority will release the cutoff for all the participating institutes which includes the IITs, NITs, IIITs, and Government-Funded Technical Institutes. Candidates can access the JoSAA 2024 cutoff list from the JoSAA official website- josaa.nic.in. - Total Number of Seats - The number of seats available for a particular program or institute is one of the factors for JoSAA's opening and closing rank. If there are fewer seats, the closing rank of josaa will go high.
- Number of Applicants - The number of candidates applying for a certain program or institute also has an impact on opening and closing rank of josaa. If the competition is higher then there will be lower closing ranks.
- Reservation Categories - Candidates belonging to the reserved categories such as SC/ST/OBC/EWS will have separate seat quotas. The opening and closing ranks of JoSAA for each category will vary for each category based on the number of available seats and the number of applicants in each category.
- Performance of Candidates - One of the factors is the performance of candidates. How candidates perform plays a vital role in determining the opening and closing ranks of JoSAA. Higher scores obtained by candidates will lead to lower ranks and vice versa.
