Innovations Unveiled: International Conference on 'Smart Materials, Automation, and Sustainability' at VGU

Jaipur, Sep 20 - The three-day international conference on "Smart Materials, Automation, and Sustainability" commenced here at Vivekananda Global University, Jagatpura, and brought across mechanical engineers, researchers, and other academics from various pockets of the globe. It was more than a dialogue, but a vibrant platform to converse in innovative thinking regarding ideas and insights about the technology that is to bloom in our lives in the coming years.

Revolutionizing Our Interaction with Technology

The speaker at the conference was set by Professor Upendra Pandel of MNIT, Jaipur, who threw out the complexity of modern consumerism. "As the pursuit of automation creeps into every door of our lives, comfort is to be valued instead of basic needs. This will risk our health and that of the delicate balance of nature, even as he called on the audience to ponder their roles within the rapidly changing landscape, with people initiating change.". He advises the youth's major during early career span to be as intensive as possible in skill development rather than to worry about placement straight into employment set up, after all, his words attributed to believing that dedication and integrity will pay for any ambition.

A Global Perspective on Renewable Energy

Professor Daniel A. F. from Ethiopia brought the challenges in solar energy production at home into the light. This created a microcosm where the ability of Ethiopia to be realized in terms of solar advances was put into display, illustrating how technology serves the power needs of global consumers.

Professor Mukesh Javeria, CSIR-National Physical Laboratory further emphasized the spirit of collaboration at the conference. There is a pressing need to reduce the waste generated during the production of PVC cells for electric vehicles. Prof. Mukesh said that recycling can play a key role in developing this growing industry with an environmental foot footprint that would resonate well with the. World Health Organisation's sustainability goals such as hunger eradication and access to clean water.

Harnessing smart materials to achieve sustainability

Vipin Mishra, who heads the engineering function at Bosch India Limited, spoke with passion about smart materials that would make a difference in daily life. "We must save not just water but also keep it clean," he said, adding a plea for creating autonomous technologies that augment water conservation efforts. This was an appeal issued in loud and clear language that resonated with the audience and zeroed in on the importance the emerging technologies would take in promoting sustainability.

Such assurance of the sustainability message coming from being a trend rather than a necessity came with Professor Kuldeep Singh Sangwan from Manipal University. He brought out various inadequacies of material quality in devices through his lecture, urging Indians today not to fall for cheaper alternatives that hold deceitful promises regarding sustainability.

Engineering a Better Future

Engineer Omkar Bagaria, of VGU who heads the college, well captured the flavor of the conference when he said sustainable material science and engineering are at the forefront of this technological revolution. He further articulated a vision in which material science is at the core of industrial advancements globally, seeking efficiency in various sectors of life and enhancing general quality.

A total of 85 outstanding research papers among 156 submissions by the participating scholars and practitioners were acknowledged in recognition of the innovative strength of this contingent on the last day of the conference.
