IIIT Dharwad (Indian Institute of Information Technology Dharwad) is located in Dharwad, Karnataka, and imparts education in the field of Information Technology. This institute was established in the year 2015. The institute was formed under a public-private partnership between the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), the Government of India, the Government of Karnataka, and KEONICS.  

The courses provided by this institute are B. Tech and PhD. Students can pursue a B.Tech degree in any of the three specializations which are Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and a PhD in any of the four specializations which are Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Admissions to IIIT Dharwad are based on the marks scored in JEE Main Exam. JoSAA releases the cut-off score for each B.Tech program every year. IIIT Dharwad has a campus size of 60 acres comprising facilities such as classrooms, a library, laboratories, hostels, knowledge centres, an auditorium, etc.

NIRF stands for National Institutional Ranking Framework. This framework was launched by the Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development and approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, on 29th September 2019.

The NIRF has ranked the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Dharwad as 93 out of 200 colleges in India in the year 2023, in the B.Tech category.
