IBSAT is an annual online management aptitude examination being conducted by the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education for IBS Admission in programmes of MBA and Ph.D. The candidates qualifying the online computer examination are eligible to apply for the mentioned courses in any of the nine campuses of ICFAI Business School (IBS). The campuses are located in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Dehradun, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune.

Earlier this year in the month of July 2018 the IBSAT Application Process started, followed by the release of IBSAT Admit Card and then finally conducting the examination on December 22nd and December 23rd of 2018.

IBSAT 2018 Exam Analysis:

IBSAT 2018 exam pattern remain unchanged like previous years and the examination can be rated between moderate to easy in terms of difficulty level.  The question paper had a total of 140 questions and candidates had 120 minutes to attend the entire question paper. IBSAT 2018 Question Paper was divided into 4 major segments. Candidates had the liberty to spend as much time as needed in each section as there was no sectional time limit or cut-offs. The questions were objective types carrying one mark each.

Verbal Ability

Verbal ability section which carries the maximum marks had the easy level of questions. The segment in this particular section was little tricky was the questions from Vocabulary evaluations while the grammar part being the easiest ones.

Reading Comprehension

Reading comprehension is that section of the question paper which evaluates the understanding of the candidates. The section was moderate in difficulty level. There were 2 passages in this section with an average between 500-600 words followed by questions based on the passage. Some of the questions were direct and factual, while some needed time to understand and answer.

Quantitative Ability

The Quantitative Ability section had a good mixture of problems including arithmetic, geometry and analytical geometry and was a little difficult from the other sections. The questions were framed on speed, distance and time, ratio proportion, work problems, heights, progressions, probability, percentages and others and candidates needs to apply formulas to get to the correct answer. From all the other sections of the question paper, the quantitative ability section was more time taking.

Data Adequacy and Data Interpretation

The Data Interpretation section was focused strongly on data adequacy and logical thinking of a candidate. The Data Adequacy and Data Interpretation section has questions on pi graphs, line graphs, Data Correlations and others. The section on overall had moderate difficulty level because some of the questions on percentage change, the ratio between two values were tricky.
