GATE 2019 is scheduled to be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras on February 2, 3, 9 & 10. The examination is conducted for admission in MTech. /Ph.D. and other scholarships in the field of engineering and technology. GATE exam is organized annually on a rotation basis by IISc Bangalore and 7 IITs i.e. IIT Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Guwahati and Roorkee.

GATE 2019 will be conducted for 24 subjects such as Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Architecture & Planning, Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics & Mechanical Engineering etc. The GATE question paper will carry the objective type and numerical type questions. There will be 65 questions in GATE exam which are required to be answered within 3 hours.

How to Crack GATE 2019 without Coaching?

Every year nearly 9 lakh candidates appear for this national level engineering entrance examination conducted for admission in Post Graduate engineering and technology courses. It is believed by numerous GATE aspirants that its almost impossible to crack GATE exam without coaching but, there are numerous candidates who qualify the examination without coaching! What matters is the approach followed by you while preparing for the examination whether you are taking coaching or not.

Tips to qualify GATE exam without Coaching:

Start Your Preps Early:

Starting your preparation early will always be a big help. This will provide you enough time to prepare for your examination. Set daily goals for yourself and try to cover the entire syllabus as early as possible, so that you get enough time to start revisions and mock tests.

Understand the Syllabus:

Before you start preparing for an examination, the foremost step must be to meticulously understand the entire syllabus of the exam. Once you understand the syllabus, distribute it in week-wise and month-wise goals and don't forget to work on your weaker areas. At times we keep focusing on our stronger parts and completely ignore the areas where more hard work is required. Make a balanced plan and follow it religiously.

Design Your Study Plan:

Students usually find difficult to set an effective study plan. They seek help from seniors, tutors, mentors and many others. Try to keep your plan simple and focus on understanding the concepts, gaining command and creating shortcuts. Shortcuts are of great help and save a lot of time during revisions.

Try Sample Papers & Mock Tests:

You must simultaneously analyze your preparations by taking regular mock tests and solving sample papers. Try to finish tests in the prescribed time and figure out the areas where you are facing the problem. Eliminate your weakness and make sure that you don't repeat the same mistake. This will also provide you with an idea regarding which section requires more effort and will enable you to finish the examination in the given time limit during GATE 2019 exam.

Don't Forget to Revise:

The most important step before GATE exam is to revise what you have studied till now. Don't be ignorant about revising the whole syllabus carefully. As you had been preparing for the examination for months, you might have forgotten numerous things. Spare at least 10-12 days for revision, so that no topic is left uncovered.
