DPIIT Internship Comprehensive Overview
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has been operating an internship system for students pursuing Undergraduate/Postgraduate degrees or Research Scholars enrolled in recognised universities/institutions in India and overseas. - Internship Duration: The internship duration can range from one to three months.
- Experience Certificate: Students who successfully complete the internship will get an Experience Certificate. Those who do not complete the required internship period will not receive any certificates.
- Number of Intern: The DPIIT will pick no more than 20 interns at a time.

DPIIT Internship Selection Process
The selection procedure includes the following steps:
- All applications submitted online will be compiled by the Establishment Division.
- Sections/divisions may request interns with the approval of the appropriate Bureau Head.
- Upon request, the Establishment Division will give information on available applications to the appropriate Division.
- Bureau Heads will select interns depending on their needs, and the Estt. G Section will send offer letters to the chosen interns.
- Payment of the stipend shall be commenced by the Estt. G Section after the internship time has ended. Interns must present a certificate certifying the effective completion of their assigned tasks.
- At the conclusion of their job, interns must submit a concise report or paper to the appropriate Divisional Head.
- The corresponding Division/Section will keep attendance and work supervision records.
- The conduct of interns and their access to data will be solely the responsibility of the relevant Divisional Head.
