CMAT Counselling 2023 is expected to take place after the declaration of results for CMAT 2023 examination which was released on May 31, 2023. It is important to note that NTA does not administer a centralized CMAT Counselling process. Therefore, participating institutes will evaluate candidates based on their respective admission policies and selection criteria to shortlist them for admission.
As part of the CMAT admission process, B-Schools conduct Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) sessions independently. Candidates are selected for the GD-PI round by CMAT accepting colleges based on their performance in the examination.
The CMAT Counselling Process is expected to begin in May 2023. The five stages of the counselling process are outlined below.
The CMAT 2023 results was announced on May 31st, 2023, and will be presented in the form of a scorecard. Candidates will be selected for subsequent rounds based on their scores. It should be noted that each institute has its own unique selection procedure and admission policy. Those who are shortlisted will be required to attend the additional selection rounds on the specified date.
The CMAT Counseling process begins once the participating colleges announce their respective CMAT Cut Off. The counseling process varies from college to college because each has its own selection process. Candidates must register for the colleges based on their CMAT cut off. The cut off is higher for colleges that provide a better education, and the general cut off range for most excellent colleges is above 80.
CMAT participating institutes will establish cutoff scores to admit students. The process of determining CMAT cutoff criteria may differ for each institute. Only candidates who satisfy the minimum CMAT cutoff standards will be considered for admission. Following that, these candidates will be invited to participate in Group Discussion and Personal Interview sessions.
During CMAT counselling 2023, a group comprising approximately 10 candidates will be assigned a topic to discuss. Effective communication skills are the primary area of assessment in this exercise. Additionally, the GD provides an opportunity to identify the most effective team player. Those who initiate the discussion, negotiate proficiently, and present their ideas in a structured manner will have an advantage over their peers.
The Personal Interview segment of the admission process is conducted to evaluate the candidate's interpersonal abilities, personality traits, general and managerial aptitude, speech command, confidence, and familiarity with business and industry. Attendance at both the Group Discussion and Personal Interview is compulsory. Candidates who do not participate in these rounds will not be eligible for admission.
During the CMAT counselling written ability test, candidates will be given a specific topic to write about. Reading newspapers can be beneficial in preparing for this segment. The purpose of this exercise is to assess how effectively candidates express their thoughts and ideas in English, while avoiding factual errors.
The final selection process for CMAT is dependent on various factors, including the Merit List, CMAT Cut Off scores, the number of available vacancies, performance in the Group Discussion and Personal Interview, and reservations, among other considerations. The selection decision is made by the institution's management team based on a variety of criteria established by the institution. Once selected, candidates must complete the document submission and verification process. They must then confirm their admission by reserving their seat and paying the necessary admission fee.
Candidates attending the counselling sessions must have their documents ready before they appear. Applicants should be really cautious when it comes to handling documents required for the counselling process, and they should be aware that documents should not be overlooked. The following important documents are required for CMAT 2023 counselling:
