The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has modified the CLAT exam pattern for the year CLAT 2024. The updated CLAT 2024 exam pattern includes essential details such as the mode of the exam, total number of questions, marking scheme, etc. It is strongly recommended that candidates thoroughly review the CLAT 2024 exam pattern before commencing their preparation. According to the latest CLAT 2024 notification, the CLAT Question Paper for admission to undergraduate courses in the academic year 2024-25 will now consist of 120 questions, a reduction from the previous 150 questions. These 120 questions will be distributed across the same five sections as before: English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.

The CLAT UG Exam Pattern encompasses five sections, namely English Language, Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. On the other hand, the CLAT PG Exam Pattern comprises two sections: Constitutional Law and other areas of law, including Administrative Law, Tax Law, etc.
The CLAT exam has a duration of 2 hours, and the CLAT Question Paper features multiple-choice questions based on comprehension. For each incorrect response, CLAT imposes a negative marking of 0.25 marks, while a correct answer is rewarded with 1 mark.
Both the CLAT UG and PG Question Papers consist of a total of 120 questions.
