In CAT, DILR stands for Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning section. This section has 20 questions and the total section is for 60 marks, and the time duration for the section is 40 minutes. The DILR section in the CAT exam is often the most tricky and challenging because the questions asked in this section require logic and cannot be answered with assumptions. In this section, one key aspect to perform well is to not answer based on assumptions and if you are unable to answer any question, it is best to leave it.

The DILR Exam pattern is pretty simple and easy to understand. Tabulated below is a detailed analysis of the DILR section in the CAT exam. Based on the CAT test pattern for DILR, here are the changes as per CAT 2024.

  • This section consists of 2 sets of data interpretation and 2 sets of logical reasoning, or it can even be a combination of both.
  • The section will have 4 sets comprising 5 questions each, with each set lending a maximum of 15 marks.
  • The most common areas questioned include bar graphs, arrangements, missing data, and puzzles (games).
