Factors Affecting the CAT Cutoff 2024

There are several factors that affect the CAT Cutoff, the major of which are given below:

IIM Calcutta Admission Process

IIM Calcutta follows a multi-stage selection process. First stage is shortlisting of candidates to be considered for Academic Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI) based on their CAT scores, academic performance and work experience. Second stage is selection based on AWT, PI and other factors. Third Stage is final selection based on the previous stages. For your ease, we have provided the admission stages with all the necessary information below:

Stage 1: Minimum CAT percentile cut-offs to be considered for PI and WAT. In Stage 1, candidates meeting the minimum requirements on both section-wise and overall percentiles in CAT as given in the Table above will be shortlisted for consideration in Stage 2.

Stage 2: Shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT). From the candidates satisfying the criteria of Stage-I, shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT) based on the composite score [Composite Score = 0.35 * Normalised AR score + 0.65 * Normalized overall score in CAT-2024]. 

Stage 3: The final selection list will be based on merit in each category, minimum eligibility in any of the above mentioned stages or criteria would not automatically qualify the candidate for admission into IIM Calcutta. The Final is determined based on the Final Composite Score [FCS = 0.50 * Normalized PI Score + 0.10 * Normalized AWT Score + 0.25 * Normalized CAT Score + 0.15 * Normalised AR Score].

Reservation Policy: IIM Calcutta will apply the Government of India reservation policy for admission to Central Educational Institutions (CEIs). For the purpose of being considered for reservations, a valid certificate as per the applicable Central Government list is to be furnished during the Personal Interview.
